Joey v3.4 45 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) I still think that a Ted Lindsay Transformer who shoots Little Caesar's Pizza would be a better representation of the Red Wings. (I tried to upload the picture but my computer is fail, so you'll just have to click the link if you're interested in seeing the ridiculousness that is the Ted Lindsay Transformer. Sorry.) Any thoughts on what the "Evil" that they'll all be fighting is? They should have done East Vs West. East could be Evil, West could be good. Or Vice Versa. Only problem then is you'd have people complaining about if they were good or bad. Personally, I think Crosby would make a better villian than a super hero I'm not saying I could do a better job than the people in charge of this, but I would do East vs West, and each division could be in a sense it's own league of super heroes. You could even incorporate rivalries, for Example the Wings and Hawks are on the same team, but they still have their own internal disagreements, and even while working together, they are jealous and resentful of one another, during battle attempting to one up each other, and during peacetime, playing pranks and sabotaging one another for kicks. You could have the Penguins be like the genius overlords of the evil team, while Philly is known for being the big mean enforcer that every EVIL superpower needs. Just some examples. Or a telekinetic robot with outdated airplane wings.....whatever. ***. Edited January 19, 2011 by Joey v3.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 A) Bettman is trying to change history and erase the Red Wings place in the original six from the minds of NHL fans (would this make Bettman the criminal The Red Wing figts? hmmmm). B) Stan Lee doesn't follow hockey and thinks the Red Wings are an expansion team. I'm willing to be the answer is neither of those. A) Bettman would never be so intimately involved in this kind of project. (I doubt he even works 8 hr days ) B) Stan Lee would definitely check facts on something like that... or someone else would at least notice the error before now. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 How has no one else picked up on Edi's 5am drunk comment? Or am I the only one not able to decipher this lol. What? That was proper English, damn it! And I wasn't drunk, I was actually up getting ready for work at that ungodly hour! "Would that I could actually draw..." is just a fancier and more wistful way of saying, "If I could actually draw, I would probably be able to do something neat." My dieting has reduced my boozing as of late, sadly.

Wingzman91 134 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Guardians? Really? Was the idea that fans would buy the teams comicbook shirt or something? Just stick to inovating the game, and you will see your merchandise sales go up, from interest in the product. That must have took 5 seconds, "Ya, sure, comics and hockey, good, go with it". Fail. Just stick to inovating the game, and you will see your merchandise sales go up, from interest in the product. That must have took 5 seconds, "Ya, sure, comics and hockey, good, go with it". Fail. I have actually wondered what market they where shooting for. I hope they're not planning on selling action figures and comic books to adult hockey fans. I would be likely to select Bud Light over Miller Light, if there was a picture of Datsyuk on the can (Admit it, you would too), but I'm not going to buy a collection of 30 NHL hockey super hero action figures. And the designs they're using, aren't exactly what I'd think would be appealing to kids. What kid wants a freaking robot with telekinesis specialty over American Cars? If They're trying to appeal to the small niche of people who collect collections of random crap, then I guess that is their best option, but I get the feeling the 30 NHL action figures are not exactly going to be highly sought after by the collectors community. And if they're trying to reach the comic community.....honestly, how many hockey fans are also avid comic book fans? I fail to see what market they aim for, and who they hope will be giving them money for this. I say they unveil it this year. They push it hard at the start of next year. But by the end of next year, "The Red Wing" action figure will be in the Big Lots Clearance Bin. Edited January 20, 2011 by Joey v3.

SliderJeff 11 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 as has been said, Stan Lee created basically the entire universe. But it was the people after him who expanded on these characters and made them make sense. He's been riding the coattails of his creations for years and now comes across as a incoherent old codger. If the nhl wanted this done right (and it never needed to be done at all,...) they should have got a guy like geoff johns (who wouldn't touch this with a ten foot poll) +1, bro. The dude behind the rebirths of Flash and Green Lantern as the mind behind this effort would have been awesome. But alas, I agree. GJ has more sense than to even entertain taking on this flaming bag of crap project.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 I've always been a superhero guy I've always liked Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and all the X-Men so I'm pretty excited to see what this is all about as for the Red Wing he looks pretty cool. I've seen all of them so far as they've revealed them and he does really look like one of the cooler ones so far maybe just cause I'm a Wings fan but it does look pretty cool. number9 3,297 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 I LOVE spiderman and I LOVE stan lee. I grew up reading spiderman and I was obsessed with comic books and superheroes as a kid. So naturally there is a special place in my heart for stan, the creator of spiderman, and a comic book god. Yet, though i love the guy, hes been a washed up haz bin for the last 30-40 years! why in the world do people keep giving him work? everything hes done in the last 10 years has been borderline retarded. hes a crack pot old coot. im honestly embarrassed to have this guardian project associated with hockey. i know there doing it to reach a younger audience, but stan lee hasnt been child relevant since the 1970s. people say that his conceptual work hasn't changed since the 60s and that he has failed to evolve with comic book enthusiasts, but i disagree. I don't think he has just failed to evolve, I think he has devolved. the stuff he puts out now is worse than the work he did 50 years ago! "but hes a comic book hero! a fantasy legend!" WHO CARES! after the nhl is done with the guardian project we should probably start the vanilla ice project, where robert van winkle (aka vanilla ice) makes a separate rap for every team in the league *intense sarcasm*. after all, vanilla ice did break records with his song ice ice baby back in the 90s....im sure hes still relevant today....especially to hockey *more sarcasm*. stan lee should have stopped while he was ahead, he has utterly embarrassed himself with all the crappy stuff he has done over the last 20 years. i used to worship the guy as a kid, yet no more. every time i hear him speak it becomes more and more apparent that he is washed up, losing it in the head, and living in a fantasy world. STOP GIVING HIM WORK! "the red wing, the red wing. does whatever a red wing can. controls an American made automobile, any size. crushes European/Asian automobiles just like flies." ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Dumb, dumb, and more dumb. None of the guardians are very creative. They could have done much more with it, but instead they all look like the stuff the comic book nerds were doing in high school art class. On top of that, they forgot that the Red Wings are an original 6 team. They basically photoshopped the 6 badge onto the video: It doesn't even look like part of the model, obviously added after they realize they screwed up.
