CopenhagenWing 38 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Nabby is a solid goaltender, but he can only do so much when he is asked to start a ton. Recent history has shown that work horse goalies are shaky at best in the playoffs. It's not Nabby's fault that his team overworked him. Somebody needs glasses.
evanbartlett 6 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 So isn't the wavier order by standings...team with the lowest percentage of points possible gets first crack, then so on? I believe this is correct. In which case it sucks for us!
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 (edited) Who would steal him away through waivers? Let's see (not including all the teams who aren't going to make playoffs) what about Colorado, Atlanta, Washington, even San Jose, Nabby would be an upgrade to any of those team's present goalies. If you include the bottom feeders, .. Leafs , New Jersey, Islanders, Senators, Calgary, Edmonton ... So there are plenty of interested teams, maybe 26 other ones who has a lower winning % than us ... which makes me wonder why they haven't tried signing him yet. Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted January 20, 2011 McKenzie: Nabokov update: Close to a deal in DET in one sense but still some issues to be sorted out. So please be clear: no agreement in place yet. Twitter Somebody needs glasses. Great example you're setting as a mod. Let's stick to the topic on hand and not resort to petty insults. Makes you think maybe the possibilities of him clearing are greater since none of those teams have signed him. Either way Kenny probably has something up his sleeve. RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 (edited) Call me when all this excitement blows over ... my pessimistic and realistic side bets that if he signs with Wings, he won't clear waivers. Edited January 20, 2011 by RedWingsRox
Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Are more teams afraid of Nabby than we realize? Any one of them could have negotiated with Nabby.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 This is out of left field. With how our goalies have played this year, definately not opposed. Doubt he clears waivers though.. I hope this doesnt mean Ozzies done. But at the very least he got 400 this year. 2 VikingMark and Vladifan reacted to this
stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Wow, this would be amazing if it went down, I just don't see him clearing waivers... maybe his agent plays some hardball that he will retire if anyone else claims him, haha 1 Green Wing reacted to this
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 What does this mean for Osgood? I think it may give some validity to the reports swirling around that he's done for the season.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Are more teams afraid of Nabby than we realize? Any one of them could have negotiated with Nabby. Could be that he doesn't want to go just anywhere. Which would be tough s*** for him in the very likely scenario that he gets claimed by some other team. Louisville 112 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 I feel like theres some plan in place, why would Holland waste his time if he was just going to get picked up? 2 Rick D and Esquire reacted to this

stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Assuming he clears and it all goes through... does definitely mean the Wings will have dump some players? Hudler? Miller? Prospects? How does this work? Right now, as long as the numbers are right, they could, in theory, LTIR Osgood for the rest of the year and he could slide in there without making another move...
