FORSBERG TO BEGIN PRACTICING WITH AVALANCHE ON SATURDAY

Peter Forsberg could be making another comeback in the NHL.

The Colorado Avalanche announced that Forsberg will begin practicing with the team starting on Saturday.

"I need to see where I am physically and practicing with NHL players is the best way to find that out," said Forsberg.

The 36-year-old hasn't played in the NHL since 2008 when he signed as a free agent with the Avalanche for their playoff run. He recorded 14 points in nine games in the regular season and five points in seven games in the playoffs that year.

The Ornskoldsvik, Sweden native played in Europe with MODO of the Swedish Elite League for two seasons after his stint with the Avs.

Forsberg's last competitive action was with Sweden in the Vancouver Olympics. He would not need to clear waivers before signing with Colorado because he didn't play in Europe this season.

I thought we were rid of this idiot once and for all. God, it's like a bad rash that keeps coming back.

Translation:

"I was hoping we didn't have to face this amazing player anymore. God help us, if he signs with the Avs they'll win the cup."

Let go of the decade old hate, the guy was awesome and it's really sad that you can't see past that old rivalry and recognize that. One of the most complete players to ever play the game. He obviously loves hockey enough to go through dozens of surgeries to his foot just to get one more chance to play the game on a high level. What's wrong with that? In my opinion such a great player deserves to finish his career up with style.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just biased because I'm a swede and I know how insanely humble, down-to-earth and nice Forsberg is. If you watch interviews with him, or even better meet him in person, it's impossible to wish him anything but success in his comeback attempt.

Well I'll take any excuse to post this video since it's one of the best highlight-reels ever compiled, and this seems like a good time since you've obviously never watched (prime) Forsberg play.

Don't really understand what you're getting at. All he's saying is Z is about the closest comparison to Forsberg as there is in the NHL today.
