I think it's because the Hawks away jerseys are all red. It just helps to differentiate the teams.
Can you tell me why Jimmy Howard is wearing big pads on his legs and a mask for his head?

Their away jerseys are mostly white and black, really.I think it's because the Hawks away jerseys are all red. It just helps to differentiate the teams.
