You should know, Cheveldae, started more games in a season, than any other wings Goaltender has ever started. He was, effectively, despite a horribly losing season, Detroits most iron goalie, in history. He sucked, sure. But he backstopped the worst team in Wings history, day in, day out.

But I notice, you don't know what you're talking about, so perhaps you should look it up?

 The worst team in Wings history?

1990-91 76 points, 1991-92 98 points, 1992-93 103 points.... HARDLY the worst teams in Wings history... That honor goes to Greg Stefan and Mark LaForest 1985-86 40 points...

*see your last line of your post.... perhaps you should look it up...

I loved how Lee Norwood was called Hack N Whack. You got Oatsie, Burrsy, Yzerman was also called Silk, Hanlon was called the Fly, Gallant was Spudsie...

He sucked his way to being a Vezina contender multiple seasons, finishing 5th in 1991-92 and 7th in 1992-93. In postseason All-Star voting he finished 10th in 1990-91 and 5th in 1991-92. He was also named to the Campbell Conference All-Star team in 1991-92 alongside Ed Belfour and Kirk McLean. His first full NHL season was 1989-90, and his first year as a starter was 1990-91. He played seven full seasons, posting a winning record in five of them. Only once, in 1994-95, has he missed the playoffs as a starter; missing by three points as the Jets' starter.

Cheveldae won 10 of his 27 decisions (28 games played) in 89-90, compared to starter Glen Hanlon's 15 of 38 (45 games played). The team as a whole won 28. Cheveldae took the reins the next season, and the Wings made the playoffs with Chevy playing 65 games with a 30-26-5 record. Detroit has not missed the playoffs since.

As for nicknames...

How about "Stumpy" Steve Thomas?

I'm very creative with my nicknames for player...not. :hehe:

Drew Miller- The Silver Skater

Mike Madano- Little Cutie Beaver Man or LCBM for short

Brian Rafalski- Raffy Laffy Taffy or The Laffy Taffy

I think that's it.
