There's been a lot of weird things like this one happening in hockey (and in other sports too) lately. Cherepanov thing as well. Wonder why everyone has kept so quiet about them, because this sure isn't normal.
I'm afraid only explanation I can come up with is doping; steroids, performance enchancing drugs. I've read some interviews about former Finnish soccer players who used them and the result was many time just like this one. Heart starts to pound fast and it feels like you don't get tired at all, then suddenly it blacks out and you just stumble to the ground.
