wow indeed... there's got to be something behind the scenes for this trade, maybe he needed a change of scenery...

All I have to say about Holland and our off-season:

Here in this thread

Here in this one as well

Here in this one too

Holland is a damn good GM. period.

At least we won't have to put up with him anymore (.931 sv% last year vs DET).

Both teams are well out of the playoff race, and both players` contracts expire at the end of the season.

This trade makes absolutely no sense to me.

Elliott will be restricted, but yeah theres not much here.

If you start a new thread within two hours after a Wings game, specifically a loss, YOU ARE WRONG.

Ah, good call. Still, yeah, he had an unimpressive season, and I can't see him being the starting goaltender in Colorado next year.

Elliot is awful.

Welcome to the playoffs....where the games get better and the officiating gets worse.

Budaj and Elliot? That's almost worse than Budaj and Raycroft back in 08-09.

He was great against everyone last year. This year...not so much.

Makes some sense if the Avs want to get a big name goaltender in the summer. Elliott as a backup, Vokoun/Miller as starter... Yes, I'm stretching.

Still, they should have been able to get a pick out of Ottawa as well as Elliott, unless Anderson's off-ice issues are at a Tootoo-ish level of seriousness.
