MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted February 18, 2011 Looks like Boston has to make a move to clear the necessary cap space, likely going to be Mark Stuart.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 18, 2011 Peter Chiarelli owns Brian Burke. Gets 2 1sts and a 2nd for Kessel, and now is only giving a late 1st rounder, a prospect and a conditional draft pick for Kaberle. If Fisher goes for a 1st and a 3rd, Kaberle is worth more then this imo.

People have been shouting for two years now that the Leafs couldn't get a 1st rounder for Kaberle, and they did. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted February 18, 2011 @Darrendreger Deal reported stands, pending trade call. Not a bad 3 weeks for Leafs. Two 1st rnders, prospects Colborne and Gardiner and NHLer Lupul. ... It's believed the Bruins are arranging trade call. Sounds like a done deal. Difference is Fisher is signed for two more years and Kaberle is a rental. People have been shouting for two years now that the Leafs couldn't get a 1st rounder for Kaberle, and they did. and some. McKenzie reporting that no talks between Boston & Kaberle have occurred. So if they plan to keep him, they still need to resign him.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted February 18, 2011 Good deal for the Leafs. Colborne was drafted 16th overall in 08. His stock hasn't risen since then but he's still a 6'5 kid who was a point per game player in college and has plenty of time to continue developing. Add in a 2011 1st round pick and the Leafs got more for Kaberle then most expected they would. Don't forget that everyone knows the Leafs want to dump Kaberle and this hasn't been his best season.
