Note: This is a trade deadline thread only. Players placed on or picked up on waivers do not belong in this thread.
It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

"They are the best team in the world. They are a team that can just take over when they want to," Chicago's Patrick Kane said (of the Detroit Red Wings).

Video Games are not a good indicator. I have won 40 Stanley Cups in a row just simming because you can fleece other teams because machines can't trade worth a damn.

Nieuwendyk was asked on NHL Live ! about possibly trading Richards: ``I've discussed it with some teams. All options are in play here. It's certainly not my first choice, I've maintained all along that we'd like to keep Brad as a Dallas Star for a long period of time. There's a lot of uncertainty with our side as far as ownership that are a concern for them. But, all options are open. It's certainly going to have to be a good type of deal in order to pry him away from us because we are sitting tied for eighth right now and have a lot of home games coming up in March."

Takes all of an hour to do. Set up lines, hit sim. Season over. Just fun to do to see entire careers fly by.

Spoiler: Tatar ends up with 1700 pts.

Shows you how much Video games mean.
"It is a lot easier to be an ******* to words than to people"-xkcd

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

Ducks land Dan Ellis from Tampa for Curtis McElhinney.

Ellis has another year on his deal next season at $1.5 million while McElhinney is UFA so Tampa clears cap space for next season.

This cannot be good news for what is going on with Hiller.

Imma let you finish, and your cap numbers are all good and all that, but imma let Kenny figure it out. Kenny's cap numbers were the best cap numbers this year.

I believe the Avs have made a terrible mistake, evidenced by the fact that Brian Elliott just got shelled by the Edmonton Oilers.

Will Ellis be bitching about it on his Twitter?

I'm not too sure about that move. I wouldn't be comfortable with McElhinney as my starter should Rollie get injured.

TSN:

The exodus in the nation's capital continues as the Ottawa Senators have shipped veteran forward Alex Kovalev to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a conditional seventh-round pick.

I have a feeling Bettman is threatening GMs around the league, making them help out the Pens.

Players don't come much cheaper than that. Not a bad move by Shero.

Penguins get Kovalev for a conditional low (6th or 7th round) pick.

Pittsburgh facepalm. Where was this desire to get a useful winger when Crosby needed one? Shuffling in a couple of high-priced rentals didn't work last year.

Mike Smith will be the backup. He's on re-entry waivers today.

Ray Shero must have nude pictures of Bryan Murray and Joe Nieuwendyk.
