I saw that hit and thought immediately about how E Staal was thinking "here's a chance to show my bro a thing or two about not keeping his head up" but not thinking "here's a chance to put a guy in the hospital"

Looks like a clean hit to me... he certainly got his bell rung... no question about going easy there.

Good clean hit. Eric would have felt bad if he had ended his brother's career due to concussion problems. Players are so big and strong now it doesn't take much to cause a concussion. Elbow pads and shoulder pads are more like weapons. He caught him with his head down though and got him with the shoulder on his shoulder so that's good.

Far more serious injuries (in number and severity) result from hard hits that the guy wasn't expecting than from fights. Fact, not opinion.
