3 teams I dont want to see the wings play are

Chicago, I think it would be a war and wear them down

Calgary, just cause they are on a hot streak but in a month who knows

LA, cause Quick scares me.

Chicago, because this war you speak of would not last long. They have looked better lately but I truly feel like we could dispose of them quickly and it will be a pleasure to watch that. Not because the "try switch" will be on but because that will be the first test they need to get this possible Cup run started. Calgary also doesn't scare me one bit. LA, is pretty much the same.

No thanks to Nashville, assuming they will make it which right now doesn't look like the case. Who knows tho. Truly, Chicago would be the most fun series in my opinion to get it all started.

In before someone says either, (1) You never want to pick your poison or (2) I don't care who we play.

I wouldn't mind playing Phoenix or Calgary.

Nashville forechecks the s*** out of us and constantly pressures our passers, which causes us fits. No thanks to teams like that.
It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

Nashville..... :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

The way it's shaping up, we could easily draw them in the 1st round and I think that would be miserable. We haven't been able to to handle them this year and I'm not sure we could oust them in a timely manor.

I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a little afraid of Chicago.

Here ya go NFM...

If we play our best game we should be able to beat anyone. In all honesty I think the better the team we play the better we will play. Make it passed the 1st round and I think we will be well on our way.

LGW after 1 loss is irrational, after a few in a row it becomes quite comical, 22 playoff appearances in a row and 4 cups in that time and still going strong. Relaxxxxx !!

I dont especially want to play Dallas first round.

That said, without picking my poison, I'd reeeeeeeally love to take down the defending champs first round, but I'm just happy we're on the top side of the seeding right now (and hopefully come playoffs).

Want to play Nashville and Dallas

Absolutely Positively do not want to play Los Angeles or Chicago... I think we could out shoot these teams by 15 each game but lose 2-1 or 3-2

the wings need the "MENTAL" challenge of someone going in.
in the years they have been bounced 1st. round...they didn't take the opponent seriously.

if we square off with chicago first round....the level of intensity will go to red, right off the first faceoff.

i want Chicago!

I want them to get a matchup against Dallas so I can attend a game or two, but Dallas seemed to have our number this year. Winning 3 of 4 against us, two of which were 4-1 games. We did take one 7-4, but everything was going in that night.

I wasn't worried about Chicago until they started streaking, but I don't think we should have a problem with them. In all reality, it seems every team brings more to the table when they have to take the ice against the big red machine. Just one of those things, playing the best makes people play their best.

I've always dreaded the Nashville matchup. We'll see how we fair against them this weekend.

Nice #3 addition. How could I have forgot that one as well....its an LGW staple.

I'd take Chicago, based on travel.

I also want chicago so I can talk s*** to my friends from there. And a potential game meet-up for in-person s***-talking.

I'd hate to see the Sharks :nonono: only person i like on that team is Niemi, anyway. And admittedly i just get nervous when we play them

I'd love to see the Hawks & Wings battle it out though!!:D would be more of an exciting game to watch than anything

well i dont see why anyone wouldnt want to play chicago, travel is light, and they have weak goaltending and defense, i think our Offense (while healthy) could over power theirs, and it wouldnt tire us out as Calgary, SJ, LA would.... but who knows its a crap shoot right now

Anyone but Nashville, because we play them in the first round too much. I think we'd handle them in 5 games if we ddid draw them, though.
