That youtube video with Ken Daniels calling some of Shanny's goals made me ponder exactly how many seasons KD has been with us, so went to his wikipedia page. Just read a fact that made me absolutely respect the man more than I could have imagined, no matter how many times he says "Datsyukian":

On June 4, 2008 Daniels filled-in for regular Detroit radio broadcast announcer Ken Kal for game 6 of the 2008 Stanley cup finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ken Kal was suffering from Laryngitis and was unable to call the game. The Red Wings had a 3-2 lead in the series and won the game, and the cup. In a very classy move, with 45 seconds left in the game, Ken Daniels took off the headset and handed the game over to Ken Kal, stating to Kal, "I don't care if you can't talk, you have to bring it home". Ken Kal called the final 10 seconds, and was able to make the call "...The Detroit Red Wings are the 2008 Stanley Cup Champions!"

So awesome.

Also, in back to back games, Zetterberg will score the GWG, with Franzen breaking his scoreless streak and Rafalski continuing to play like Olympi-falski, adding a couple helpers.

5-3 Wings. (Z, Dats, Franzen, Lids x2)

I actually heard that clip on the radio last year (I think) it gave me chills just as it would have had I been listening to it that night.

Wings have done pretty well with the goals against the last while. So let's keep it under 2 goals against, okay Wings? Also, I sense with Zetterberg getting his scoring going, Rafalski handing out assists like a sailor hands out cash at a strip club, I see the Wings putting in at least 5.

I read that Eaves is likely to be in tonight. I'm guessing Drapes will be out.

I surprisingly liked the 3rd line last night, lets hope they can have another strong one.

Apparently Hudler is sick and didn't make the trip, so it'll be him that's out tonight. It could be Drapes as well though with MLive confirming the following.

Per Ansar Khan:

Patrick Eaves returns to the lineup after missing 10 games with a groin injury. Drew Miller also is back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the past two games.

Coach Mike Babcock said Jiri Hudler is sick and didn't make the trip. Hudler was shaken up on a hit by D.J. King early in Wednesday's game but returned to finish the game. Babcock said he hadn't decided on the other forward to scratch.

Include the official Mike Babcock drinking game.

From Facebook:

The Mike Babcock Drinking game is quite simple. Every time his name is said, you must say "Babcock" and take a drink (in your best Canadian accent of course). If he is shown on TV, then you must say "Babcock" and drink two drinks. If there is an interview with him, then you must drink for the entire time Mike is speaking.

*Please remember to have a back up beer ready, as some interviews can run longer than one beer.

Or every time he begins an answer with "Well..." then you have to take a drink.

Since its Saint Pattys day and I'm at University, I'll be watching the red wings game twice tonight... Unfortunately for my liver it will be because I am seeing double :beerbuddy:

Happy St Pattys day my fellow LGWers !

Have the wings won any back to back games this season? I cant remember

Wheres eaves i thought he was cleared to play?

go wings!

Do you mean winning both games on consecutive nights? Last time to do so was last weekend, beating Edmonton at home and beating St. Louis on the road the next night.

OP fully updated.

How many green beers do you think Murph will have finished off prior to the game? And will he be able to stand? Too bad he didn't come to my work today, he could have had a green hot dog (although they were definitely more than a $1).
