I'm not sure how I feel about seeing Datsyuk and Raffi sore and in against a team that gives us fits- I'd prefer they get a day off to make sure nothing's wrong and, heaven forbid we draw these guys, I don't want them to see our hand yet. I dunno, I just don't want to see any injuries.

I'll still call the win. 4-1, Z, Franz, Lids, and Homer on a Lids tip in.

As the Nashville/NHL website implies, is this really a rivalry?

Not even close to one. There's no real bad blood between the two teams, they're not really on the same skill level, and Nashville games are usually really boring.

The NHL and media have changed the meaning of the word "Rival" to mean opponent. Every game, no matter the teams, is a rivalry game these days.

Just a not eabout the OP, Nashtown has 82 points not 71.. :P Just sayyyin. Haha.

Anyways, I have finally started to feel a bit better watching Wings games and it seems to me that they are starting to get back to finding a way to win even when they arent playing at 110%.. let's just hope they keep it going for a change.

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this or not, and if it isn't, I'm really sorry! It seemed appropriate because it pertains to the next Wings/Preds game.

Anyways, as it so happens, I have an extra ticket to the Detroit/Nashville game on Saturday, April 2 in Nashville. It is 3rd row, Section 117 (The Wings shoot on this side twice, we are directly facing the face-off circle).

My boyfriend and myself are making a treck out to Nashville from California for his birthday/the game and, because our buddy that is supposed to go with us is flaking, we would like the ticket to go to another Wings fan rather than scalp the ticket gameday to a Predators fan. We will definitely be pre-partying before the game and surely after the game, too, so you are welcome to hang out with us for any of said festivities if you wish. Or not. That's your call!

Face value of ticket is roughly $100, but I would be willing to sell it for less, as I would like to see the ticket go to good use!

As the Nashville/NHL website implies, is this really a rivalry?

Being a Wings fan in TN I see that "rivalry" tag all the time when we are in town and it drives me crazy!..The answer is no...what I try to tell the sports media and fans in this town is the only thing it is, is a one sided hatred from Preds fans but they refuse to accept it as so. I try to explain to them how a rivalry includes 2 teams going up against each other that do not like one another, the key word there being 2 teams. Preds fans hold a grudge against the Wings for our fans taking over their arena in the early years and even today, they hate anybody involved with the Original 6 and all Canadian teams because of how long we've been with the sport...in other words...they're jealous.

So the best thing it is for the Preds is a marketing sceme in terms of how their front office is...in reality...to them...every time they face us, is as close to a stanley cup final game as they'll ever be so they treat it as so.

Let's bury them tonight and remind them of their place in the league...can't wait to be there tonight to see it!

GO WINGS!!!! (and please bench Ericsson as another plus tonight!)

The Preds fans consider us their biggest rival

In my book, a rivalry involves each of the two teams beating the other in the playoffs at least once in the last several years.

Our current rivals

Pittsburgh

San Jose

Anaheim

Past Rivals

Colorado

Calgary

Wanna be rivals (but they haven't beaten us in the playoffs recently or ever)

Chicago

Nashville

Columbus

Dallas

Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Great to see that man in the possible lines even if he is "questionable". I just want him to keep playing so we can beat this team. Nashville has absolutely owned us the last 2 times we have played and that drives me nuts. Just one of those irritating teams I guess. If Rinne stands tall, we could be in a little trouble. THIS Red Wings team will be much better than the other games though and I feel a win. Get it done boys.

Chicago is not a wannabe rival. Due to close proximity, divisional ramifications, true hatred most of us have for them, and both Original 6 teams makes me acknowledge them as a rival.

The wannabe part only comes into play because most feel they just became "relevant" in the last 2 years. I have since I was like 5 hated the Blackhawks and my Dad spoke of outright wars those games used to be and continue to be. Can't tell me Chicago is a wannabe rival.

Go wings lets set off this nasty rivalry even more. OK so I'm kidding but I'd say they're a quasi rival. At any rate just beat Tootoo and the other scum bags. At least Weber is out right?

Datsyuk will not play tonight.... Rafalski will play... Franzen is a game-time decision

After getting "bumped"? Hmm... ok then. Probably as expected with Pav though and for the best. Just glad that Raf is definitely ok. He has been spectacular in the 2 games since his return.
