Great effort by the boys while short on the bench, and putting up with the piss poor officiating... I think Babs or Kenny should call the NHL out about this officiating tonight because it was beyond pathetic. Another goal called off, all those elbows to the heads against the wings, and above all else that hit on Nick was disgusting... and yet the Wings only had 3 PP's!?

Perhaps we can tell Lils to take the flight home to Detroit in Rusty's place?

Yeah, it's always the refs. Wish there weren't any. But hey, then who could we blame our losses on?
No it is not always the Refs, I never said that. Tonight though they missed about five or more calls plus the horrible job when they waved off the goal from Kronwall because Holmstrom was doing what he does best.

That fish was unbelievable! How does someone sneak something that size in the building??
Probably sold at a food stand. Beer and catfish.

Also, some of the women in Trashville wear very big pants.

IDK about you guys but that fish looked fake to me. And I don't think that prissy ice girl would have picked it up like that if it was real.
it did look pretty real, but i think its a stuffed animal, for the reasons you mentioned.

I don't think I can remember a time where we were so dependant on one player and how that player changed the whole game...maybe Stevie Y. I still feel like Dats means a little more at this point.
I think we will go as far in the playoffs as he and Z can carry us.
I'm not sure it is an overall dependence on Pavel I was referring to....we just have a bad problem with Nashville, and I was pretty sure we weren't going to beat them without Pavel.

Seriously though, I don't think any one team's fans are happy with the current state of officiating. Maybe Pittsburgh lol

He isnt giving us much offense, thats what we signed him for. Hes okay defensively. doesnt hold on to the puck very long to make a good play, he gets it takes a shot from where ever he is or passes it right away. kinda looks scared out there to be hit

Boy, that first period was rough. The Preds were getting a tad dirty there. I'm just thankful that (for now) no reported injuries occurred on our end. I thought for sure the Lids, Clearly, and Eaves were all going to be gone after what happened with them.
I'm actually kind of glad that Pav didn't play just for the fact that he could have been seriously injured considering how hard the Preds were playing.
But you knew that they were a desperate team facing off against a team that's not so desperate. I actually expecting a walloping but we hung in there the entire game.

Fischer absolutely. Lilja not so much. Weber was the one who scrambled Lilja's brain for a season, remember? I doubt Lilja would be up for round 2.Glad I didn't watch this one...

I know Lilja got his game together here and became a favorite, but no thanks. Especially post-concussion Lilja. Much respect for him trying to learn to fight at the NHL level, but he was never very good at it. And he hasn't fought since the concussion. Last night he was a healthy scratch against the Kings, and was only in the lineup before that because for a while Carlyle was carrying 7 d-men.
I know there's heavy nostalgia here for Lillypads, but it seems he peaked before the concussion. He has 1 goal and 6 assists and is a -13 for the Ducks in 51 games (he's been a healthy scratch for the others).
I was hoping Salei would bring some of the edginess he's had in the past, but injury and age seemed to have dampened that. Still, he's better than Lilja at this point.
Don't get me wrong, I wish someone would've laid a beatdown on Weber, Erat, Franson, but it wouldn't have been Lilja. (apologies in advance to edi.

Wings are playing regular season hockey while teams like the Preds are playing playoff hockey.Got pushed around all game long, I know its only a loss in the reg season but they way the wings have handled playing physical teams just does not bode well for them in the playoffs. Only positive was really Howard, cant fault him.

I agree. Every post he makes, he further confirms my initial opinion that he is a supreme ****** bag.
Sad thing is, he makes good, thoughtful posts outside of GDT's. He just cannot resist the GDT trolling, I guess.

The refs didn't lose this travesty of a game for us, but they may not as well have been there for all the outrageous liberties Nashville took and got away with. I was looking forward to this game - Nashville always plays well against us; this was more Wrestlemania than hockey. It's a little difficult to play a puck when you're being whacked with someone's stick or thrown into the boards from behind for the better part of the game. I understand the Preds are fighting for their playoff lives, but that's no excuse to pull the crap they did last night. I am embarrassed for them. I suspect their fans are pleased, which makes me fell sorry for them. If the Wings pulled that crap, I'd be ashamed. I'm sure all the Preds fans got a big kick out of Kronwall having to push Eaves to the bench as well.Yeah, it's always the refs. Wish there weren't any. But hey, then who could we blame our losses on?
