Poisonous because they want to win and Colorado wants nothing to do with that these days?

Anderson was touted as a consummate team guy in Florida and with the other moves made by Col lately, I have to believe the problem lies higher up and not on the players... remember, this is the team that wanted Roy to be its GM... someone at the top is making poor decisions and putting poor people in place there

EDIT - Just read the article and although I think it was a good move by Ottawa to bring him back, I think the price and term is VERY questionable...

Anderson is the best goaltender that the Senators have had in a long, long time. ~$3 million is a good price to pay for somebody who's a pretty strong starting goalie if you ask me. He had a bad year in Colorado but hey, Colorado and bad years go hand in hand :P Not sure that signing him to a four-year deal was totally wise, but he's by far Ottawa's best option in net.

The Ottawa Senators signed goaltender Craig Anderson to a four-year contract extension on Monday.

The native of Park Ridge, IL, will earn $12.75 million over the course of his contract, averaging $3.187 million per season. The club takes a cap hit of $3.18 million in the deal.

OVERPAID

Don't think hes overpaid IMO. I'd rather have him over Howard(currently anyways). Only $600,000 difference in their contracts. Andersons term is a bit much though i'll agree.

giving goalies over 2 year contracts is scary. there really arent any dominate goalies that command inflated and overlong contracts. this one isnt that inflated (a bit)...but overly long...he had one good year and is pretty much .500 this year.

Miller is honestly the ONLY starting goalie in the league today, that I would feel completely comfortable with giving a contract longer than 3 years... I wouldn't have a problem with the likes of Lundqvist either, but not as strong as Miller... there are just too many variables to a goalies game/health to be locked in long term with one...
