zetts can be qouted saying a few seconds ago "we need to get in here tomorrow and work our nuts off" . well that's one way to say it.

 Like Red Wings Live Post Game?? I am missing SO MUCH!!

Well all, one good thing Tigers are playing tomorrow. I really don't get into it until hockey is over. I usually welcome the change of pace in June, but now having 2nd thoughts.

hearing stuff like that from the players doesn't make me feel good at all. i'd rather hear mike ilitch say something like: "you guys aren't getting paid for this game", or something to that extent.

Nothing to say I would hate to be the next team to play the Wings

You're absolutely correct. The Blues set the bar so high that the prospect of having to score a dozen goals next game is very daunting. That would require something like 72 shots on goal. :hehe:

What. the. hell.

I just saw the score, usually I watch the games on DVR after work but I'm not bothering now. Utterly disgusting. Is this the worst loss since the 40s? I can only think of a game where we allowed 13 against Toronto way back when. Unless we were the ones that scored 13...

Just...wow. Listening to the postgame interviews, I can't say I'm impressed with Lidstrom. I understand the need to keep the team calm and realize it is just one game, but as a leader you need to challenge your players. This would have been a good time for "This was an unacceptable loss. We are better than this and I expect us to be better than this this weekend." Something more than a simple "we got outworked but it'll all be okay." Babcock came closer to the truth, but even he must be reserving his rage for practice tomorrow.

This is one of those wake-up games. Good teams don't get trounced like this. For all the "it's just a game, it happens to everyone" let's recall that it HASN'T happened to the Wings for decades, so apparently it doesn't happen to everyone once in a while.

It is just one game, but it is also an exaggeration of what has been going on all year. They would do well to take note rather than sweep it under the rug.

Wow. Just wow.

I'm a Sharks fan, and checked the score after the second (8-3?!? ).

Just wrong; this isn't the Wings I've watched over the last decade.

Or maybe it is….

After that 9-3 bizarro game against the Sharks, the Sharks went on to win the Presidents trophy.

And lost in the first round.

Andthe WINGS made it to the finals (and lost in 7).

So, although it's got to hurt like heck, losing 2-1 is pretty much the same thing in the standings, so this probably can only be a kick in the pants (like it probably was in '09).

In any event, this is the funniest GDT I've read in quite a while!

No, don't get me wrong, not because of the blowout. Just some good witty conversation.

See y'all in the playoff.

(Dang. What did it do to my post... Don't edit posts in a different editor...)

Ummmmmmm....

How does one react to this really?

I mean I GUESS a very embarrassing/ass whooping game could do our boys good. A huge wake up call perhaps. I don't even know.

Well, judging from the other ass-whoopings the Wings have received this year, we can expect a huge bounce back game in Nashville and then a return to mediocrity after that until out next ass-whooping.

I don't think Lidstrom has done a good job of leading this team this season.

They've been lazy and unwilling to play consistent or play a full 60 minute game. A leader has to get a team like this off its ass and ready to play every night. Same with the coach.

Neither Lidstrom nor Babcock have done that well.
