Sometimes I wonder if the league is tired of detroit, or wants to give other teams the spotlight. Having 20 years of being the best team in the league or close to it, I could see that. I thought this way the entire SJ series last year.

Yup, parity sucks!

Edit: I'm sure it's not true, but if so, that would be horrible marketing for the league to do that, considering the Wings are their biggest draw and most popular team. But then again, the League under Bettman has been horrible at marketing.

You just know the Preds are going to clam up and try to hang on for the last 20 minutes. It's going to be tough to break through; fingers crossed for a good bounce or two.

Great game by the Wings, but is is still unfortunate to think the Wings are losing still because of that terribly officiated first period... I would say the refs owe the Wings a couple calls in the 3rd. Also, Jimmy Howard has got to have that 3rd goal it is goals like that that can kill us in the playoffs. Overall, great game by the Wings hopefully they can complete the comeback and win in the 3rd

If we continue to play well I can accept a loss today. But I think we are at least going to tie this game up. Would love to at least get a point out of it and tighten the noose around at least keeping 3rd spot.

To me as that period got later in the period, it seemed to me the wings were taking too many perimeter shots. I hate that. Crash the net boys.

Im' not going to be that mad at Howard for that goal becuase it was such a hard shot that came out perfectly, but Howard reacts very slowly to shots. I don't know what the deal is. He is slow getting post to post and he needs to really work on moving faster. He also needs to work on rebounds.

Today he's been fine though in my opinion.

It's good to see the Wings come down from that emotional high but the damage was done. Z's and Helm's lines along with Abby are the only ones actually playing like they want to win. Mule is floating out there, Bert isn't doing crap besides fighting, Homer is making bad passing plays, Mo is giving it his half assed game again, E making durp plays. Babs needs to double shift the 4th line and mix Abby with Z.

Another thing Howard has to really practice in the off season is playing the puck... there are so many times where teams shoot the puck around our boards and he just lets it go by, making it difficult for the players to retrieve the puck. If he could just go out and stop the puck behind the net it would add a lot more time for the Wings to possess the puck IMO, which is key to the Wings success.

Yeah, Franzen and Cleary need to step and get some. Franzen is our leading scorer and hasn't had a goal in what 25 games or something like that and didn't Cleary have a like a 10+ game streak with a goal earlier in the season as well?

Nice to see Bert showing some balls for the first time in two seasons - maybe he's been reading what I've had to say about him? Now maybe some of you "Detroit doesn't need an enforcer" folks can see the benefits from a good message-sending fight. Maybe Bert can go for the hat-trick and have a go with Weber? Maybe not.

I don't know if Detroit will come back and win this game, but I've actually liked a lot of what I've seen. The trick for them will be to harness it: be a little more disciplined and try to keep playing the same way offensively, ... BUT DON'T SHY AWAY FROM PHYSICAL PLAY!! Initiate it!

Wings need to lower their emotions just a little bit so it doesn't get the better of them which it currently is IMO.

I don't think they should lower their emotions. Just USE them. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I want to see focus, intensity and controlled aggression. I want to see all-out know-it-all cockiness and YES WE CAN DO THIS. I loved what Bert did. I really appreciate their play right now and I do indeed think they can win this game.
