4/2 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Predators 3 (OT)

A Wings player finally steps up and fights to show they won't be taking any crap, and I missed it!

He really wanted a piece of O'Brien. I don't know if the second fight was the first time they were on the ice together since the first one, but he had the gloves off for 2-3 seconds waiting for O'Brien to oblige him.

Okay so I watched the replay of Howard's "gave-saving" stop from the cross ice pass to Ward, and just as I stated before, the trajectory of the puck is going wide on the long side. That's right, Ward's shot is going to miss the net if Howard wasn't there for the puck to hit him. Ward has the entire short side open and Howard beat if he aimed correctly, but he just one times it to the long side.

As I said before, bad shot, not really a good save. Props to Howard for the effort, but that's all I can give them for.

I love ya Mick, but you're high if you think the Preds would be the Wings top choice for first round matchup.

The Wings have fared poorly against a bunch of West teams, though, so I don't think it's a crazy statement at all. I mean, what team would you rather face? I don't think Nashville presents any particular problems for Detroit.

*whew* now that I've heard your final opinion of the shot, I can finally move on with my life.

I'd love to get back the 20 seconds of my life I spent reading this post.

Why even fight? Now Nashville is going start s*** after the whistle. We need to play hockey, not box. Now we are out of our style ughh.

Babcock disagrees with you. In the post-game, he praised Bert for providing the spark the team needed.

Good try (to diss fighting) though.

EDIT- Cleary also disagrees with you.

What the hell thread am I in? Did I make a wrong click? Is this the Blues one? :shocking:

Great cherry picking out of the thread from two hours ago! What an awesome talent. Take a screenshot and send it to your parents...they'll be proud.

Now...how many times this year have we come back from a 3 goal deficit and won, and how many have we lost. Bet the statistics are on my side.

Really?

Tonight's game excepted, they have a goaltender that can be scary good and are a physical forechecking team. More often than not, that hard forechecking game rattles the Wings and they have problems scoring.

I'd think they have a better chance against the Kings (sadly, since they're my second favorite team) and Ducks, and maybe even Chicago.

I hope this game showed people that if the Wings work hard, they have ALL the tools needed to win it all.

Jonathan Ericsson either getting his head out of his ass or being removed from the lineup will also help, but that's another story.

Are you proud of yourself for giving up on the Wings whenever times get tough for them?

Can't agree. Even at the point you posted this, I didn't feel like they were out of the game.

Cynicism is a snap. Hope? Not so easy. I'm not just saying this to you. There are so many on this thread that just give up and let the whole world know about it.

Even if this game had ended with the Preds winning in OT I would have been very proud of the Wings' effort.

Someone made a good point that hope and expectations are different things. One can have low expectations but still have hope.

Criticizing the team is one thing. That's pretty normal. Giving up is another entirely. And though I'm not the absolute judge of this, I feel that giving up is unacceptable for any true supporter of a person, a team, a cause, whatever.

How to come back and lose in a shootout? How does that help us?? lol

Because it would have meant they are in the playoffs and played their asses off for most of the game. That's how it would have helped even if that had happened.

And who would you have pick up the 23 minutes Ericsson played tonight? Right now, he's the #5 guy. With Kronwall out tonight he was #4. Salei played 14 minutes and Kindl 11.

According to Babcock, Ericsson > Kindl and Salei. Sitting E and giving his minutes to either one of those two players makes this team worse.

For someone who polices everyone here, you're being awfully negative. I'd rather hope that Kindl continues to develop and we have a fairly cheap, young, big bottom pairing with him and E. But that's just me. I'm an optimist.

I am glad none of you guys play on the team to be honest. If you all give up this quickly, then wtf are you here for? Wrong site for all of you.

This is letsgowings.com not letsbitchallthetimeabouteverythingpossible.com

Keep it up though, most of you stick to your "shtick" quite often.

Pick one to sit:

BigRig

Salei

Which one?

And, a big  to all of you commenting on other people comments like you're better fans than they are. You all need to post on a sociology forum and not a sports one. Try commenting on hockey and making all of this 'Hope' you guys have for the team become infectious to others instead of trying to s*** on them all the time.

Agree, there's been to much meaningless hockey the last couple months. FINALLY a game that meant something, and we won, on the road, and when we were down 3-0.
