The 09 final with the officiating (most notably the extended 6 men on the ice for the Pens with no call and the linesman telling a guy to get off and the instant rescinding of the suspension to Malkin for his instigator at the end of a game come to mind) and the SJ series plus the veritable plethora of no goals against the Wings the last couple of years gives it some credence. All in the name of parity. I guess that means the poison dwarf is a hockey socialist.
And they also have the longest playoff streak off any pro sports team at 19 or 20 years in a row i think.

Man oh man, I thought they had penalties they could've called against Cleary and Kindl about 30 seconds apart.

I think St. Louis' went to 25, but the Wings is the longest current streak.I think st Louis had a 20+ year streak
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

Yup, parity sucks!Sometimes I wonder if the league is tired of detroit, or wants to give other teams the spotlight. Having 20 years of being the best team in the league or close to it, I could see that. I thought this way the entire SJ series last year.
Edit: I'm sure it's not true, but if so, that would be horrible marketing for the league to do that, considering the Wings are their biggest draw and most popular team. But then again, the League under Bettman has been horrible at marketing.
