The V might not look so tightly packed but all of a sudden the Ducks get a 3 on 2, you have Perry crashing the net and backing off the defenders (the tip of the V), Getzlaf with the puck on one wing and Selanne shoots from the other wing to score while both defensemen are on their respective sides.
