Throwing an octopus at the Joe no longer allowed

If I planned on throwing a dog or cat, I would just get it from PETA because thier shelters kill a higher percentage of incoming animals than any other shelters. Plus the analogy between dog/cat vs octopus is not accurate, as the octopuses were caught for human consumption as food and then sold as such. But this is PETA, so logic doesn't become anyone who represents them.

This.

Plus, why does peta even bother making statements anyway? NOBODY takes those nut-jobs seriously at all. Not to mention that they resort to using violence and terrorist tactics to try to try to make their point. (and thus, IMO should be dealt with as a terrorist organization)

And as eva points out, they are also complete hypocrites, as they are personally responsible for more animal deaths than any other shelter or animal rescue place.

In conclusion;

f*** peta

Penn and Teller's Bulls*** had an awesome episode on PETA and how corrupt they are. They don't care about people and they barely care about animals. Although they protest euthanasia, they practice it themselves - just one of many examples of hypocritical acts they have been know for.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but on the NHL hour today, a caller asked Bettman about why the consequences in regards to the octopus.

Bettman says, and I quote, "with the octopus, there is a slime factor."

To paraphrase, the slime gets on players skates, clothing and could be a safety issue.

Ahhhhhh booooooo. Stupid octopus slime! :P

When the f*** was the last time a player got hurt skating over octopus slime, Gary? I've seen players spit and shoot snot bullets on the ice many, many, many times. Are you going to ban players from spitting and snot-shooting, Betty? Such bulls*** from him.

LET THE OCTO FLY, DAMMIT!

THAT'S his beef with the octopus? SLIME?!?! I think I need an Advil. You know, I could kinda sorta maybe see their point if their problem was with players/refs getting hit by octopus, but this is just...comical. Please tell me I'm in some kind of alternate universe. On the other hand, if this is how governing bodies are generally run, international politics suddenly makes sense to me. Bettman should run for secretary-general of the UN; he'd fit right in. Back on track, though...UGGGGHHHH. Instead of a tinfoil hat, I'm going to get a clown hat. Come one, come all to see Red Wings fans star in Bettman's Flying NHL Circus - laughs aplenty.

What a retarded little cock sucking piece of s***.

We have thousands of incidents of octopi throw on the ice over the years, and how many players have been injuered by "slime"? Whats that? Zero you say?

And if that is really your concern, and not just sticking it to the Wings, why not ban players from spitting on the ice during the game? You know, the thousands of snotty loogies of "slime" that the players spit onto the ice EVERY minute of EVERY game? Hows about that slime, *******?

What a prick...

At first he claimed it was about any "objects being thrown on the ice" being a safety concern, so when people call him out on his BS and say "what about hat tricks, then?" he tries to switch it up and claim its about the "slime". So what about the loogie spitting issue, Gary? That puts literally hundreds of thousands of times more "slime" on the ice over the course of a season that a couple playoff octopi do...

I know of only one slime that negatively affects the NHL and its players, and that slime is called Gary Bettman.

It's been proven time and time again that the octopi that get thrown are not slimy. The opposing players just hate it and have complained claiming that. And Gary, like the narrow minded man he is, never bothered to investigate whether or not it was true.

This would be a good thing for Shanahan to research in his hockey research division this summer.

Not true. Not everyone knows to boil them. It's the idiots that don't do it is what gives this tradition a bad name.

Plus, I'm just guessing that 29 other GMs and Owners have made mention they don't like it. When you run a business, you HAVE to listen to its shareholders...

If Bettman is so worried about slime on the ice, then he should stay the hell off of it.

Man, I'd hate to be a janitor for his office after he slithers out.
