WCQF Game 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Coyotes 3

Honestly,

I want to play a team that has a lot more interest in the skill of the game versus trying to hit and injure people. I think round 1 opponents usually resort most to this kind of play with the Wings. Nashville, Phoenix most recently.

I say right now, we owe San Jose an Ass WHOOPIN...

Now that we just shut Doan up about thinking it was a mistake they didn't beat us last year, and some Phoenix Analyst claiming Detroit was afraid to play them, I think we need to go show that it was a mistake SJ beat us last year.

That Bertuzzi goal has to be the definition of working hard, doing good things AND getting a few fortuitous bounces. First the Filppula keep in that hit a stantion, which made the puck available for Cleary to maintain possession. Then Bert does the wrap around and it goes off a Coyotes skate.

Anyone else outside of Detroit with Center Ice know what is going to happen with the Wings game since the Caps vs. Rangers is going to run into it ?

I predict their game will go into OT and you're gonna miss the first 10 minutes or so of the first period. :hehe:

What a crock of s***. Versus has two extra channels on Directv. Did they use them? HELL no.

Yup, that might have been one of the best games I've seen Flip play ever. It's a little frustrating to see too cause if he played (and shot the puck) like that in the regular season he could easily be a 30 goal/70 point guy.

I think we've got enough evidence by now to say that Flip cruises in the regular season. Because there's no way he can play as dominant as has has this series and virtually all playoff series if he wasn't always capable of it. Plus, Zetterberg has been out, and I think he steps up when he has more responsibility. He played 20:47, the most of any forward, won 11 faceoffs, had 2 assists and was +2. Dominant.

Didn't all the Versus homos pick Phoenix? I think they did.

Ass clowns...

In the game predictions thread I picked Wings in 5 and thought i was nuts. Never saw a sweep coming at all, especially with the way the wings were playing in the regular season. I'm impressed thus far. If they keep this up against a contender like SJ I will REALLY be impressed.

Yep. Both Keith Jones and JR picked Phoenix to win the series in 6 games.

This series once again begging the question: If Shane Doan is such an incredible captain and leader, how come Phoenix/Winnipeg can't get out of the first round?

Well, he is a good leader, and a great player. But the team around him isn't up there. Given time, and a good GM, they could be a real contender. I would hardly pin Winnipeg/Phoenix's playoff troubles on one player. The team has to work, not just one player.

Amidst all this WInnipeg joking, I'd love to see them stay in the desert as I am moving back out there again. I loved watching the Coyotes and it upset me that they had to play the Wings again. Hockey can work in Phoenix, especially with an owner who gives a s*** and can afford to run a sports franchise. The fans deserve it, especially after the last 2 seasons full of failed attempts to purchase the franchise. Just imagine if they wanted to takes the Wings away, because thats how it is for quite a few people out there.

Anyone who's stupid enough to listen to Jeremy Roenick deserves to be hit upside the head with a rolled-up newspaper like a bad dog.

Can't San Jose do both?

HUGS FOR EVERYBODY, AHHHH!!!! I don't even know what to say. This is so...RAD!! I didn't know they could do it in 4, but I thought they might...5 sounded more reasonable, but a sweep didn't seem out of the question. Thanks so much Wings for exceeding expectations!

I love that Howard quote...might have to put that in my sig.

I long ago got the feeling that Keith Jones dislikes the Wings from his Avalanche days.
