Wing Across The Pond 196 Report post Posted April 24, 2011 Looking at it now, there are potentially 4 game 7s from the remaining 6 match-ups. All of Chicago, LA, Montreal, and Tampa play game 6 at home to tie the series at 3-3. Buffalo and Nashville both play at home to win their series. Whilst its going to be an exciting few days, and the Wings are probably glad for the rest, does anything wonder whether we could have used at least one more game for conditioning? Keeping up with a game pace? Or do you think they'll be more focused and refreshed - thinking of players like Z who haven't played in the post-season yet this year, will he bring his regular season play or be fired for round 2. Mo seemed to be fired so lets take that as a good sign. Additionally, with a lot of teams (potentially) forcing a game 7 and taking a lot of momentum, we could see a lot of higher ranked teams dropping out. If Buffalo and Nashville both win at home, that'll be a 4th and a 2nd seed gone. Means a lot more home ice.
Ozzie30 170 Report post Posted April 24, 2011 Extra rest Would be nice. I'm half-assed rooting for Nashville and Chicago - only cause I don't want to deal with more 10:30 games. 2 wingnut40 and wingfanatic4alltime reacted to this

stevieisthebest 80 Report post Posted April 24, 2011 The more games other teams play, the better for us. They will be more beat up with only a couple days of rest.

WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted April 25, 2011 Chicago and Vancouver are going to be exhausted for the 2nd round. 3 game 7's on Tuesday night. Can you say overload? Going to be a great night.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted April 25, 2011 Still not understanding the NHL's scheduling on this... Montreal-Boston don't play game 6 until Tuesday night but there are 2 game 7's that night and then if Montreal-Boston go to a game 7 it would be the very next day? Seems right in line with most scheduling brain farts they make but I just don't seem to understand this one.
