HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I really don't hear the crying from Canucks fans. Were too busy s***ting a goose watching their team almost choke away another "Cup run". And trust me, I heard enough crying about the officials from them last round. They hit their quota already, so they better spare all of us that anyway. Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 The thing that worries me about vancouver beating nashville, is nashville does not have all the offensive weapons up front to get it done like Vancouver does. I hope Rinne shuts the door, but the preds are inferior to Chicago in the form of offensive weapons. I just don't know if they can get it done. Vancouver played great yesterday, as one cohesive unit. If they continue to play that way, very solid and cohesively, I don't think nashville has much of a chance. But the intangible here is Nashville will have had 4-5 days off and Vancouver is going to have ZERO time to prepare. This should heavily favor Nashville, especially with Vancouver coming off a very emotional series. I hope there's a letdown and Nashville takes advantage in game 1. Just split and go home and take care of business! Last year, all the Wings fans were up in arms about having to play so soon after winning in Phoenix. They played on April 27th and then had to play San Jose on April 29th. The other Western conference series didn't start until the 30th and Wings fans were crying conspiracy. Here, Vancouver has the same amount of time to prepare between series, having to play on Thursday while the Wings don't play until Friday. I really don't hear the crying from Canucks fans. The only conspiracy and whining I have been upset about with regard to scheduling was in 2009 when we earned the time off beating Chicago in 5 games but instead the series got moved up quickly which heavily benefited Buttman's team, the s***tsburgh Penguins. That was very frustrating. Our guys were very banged up for that series and the 2-3 days extra could have really benefited us. But going 7 games, that's one of the disadvantages. If you play all 7 games you don't get time off. So, I don't know why Vancouver fans would be whining about it. I have seen them say that they are all emotionally spent and wished there was more time but I haven't seen any of them crying conspiracy.

syntax 359 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I don't hate either of these teams. I actually have some respect for Nashville though. I see a few things possibly happening: Preds lock s*** down and squeak by in 7. Vancouver giant choke, Preds in 5-6. Both teams play like they look on paper, Canucks in 6-7. The refs f*** everything up, either team in 6-7. Should be an interesting match up overall, with a ton of scoring against a pretty good defensive team. Tommy_Like_Wingy 25 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Fisher, Weber, and Suter will shut down the Sedins and Rinne will take care of the rest. Nashville is getting Erat back and I think coming off their first series win will fire them up enough to take the series.
FireCaptain 563 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Preds in I'm not sure how many games. Rinne's not playing that great - he laid 2 goose eggs in their Duck series - but he gives the Preds a chance every night.. Luongo is also not playing well. Couple that with the 7 game series and I think the high powered Canuck offense falls to the 5 seed. *this would be a perfect scenario for me - Wings win and Preds win - then I'd get to go to WCF games.. I've been to playoff games, but never anything deeper than the first round.
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I really just don't see the Preds advancing. Course, I didn't see the Preds advancing over the ducks last series either. If I was a betting man, I would say Vancouver in 6 games. I still wouldn't be surprised to see Rinne steal a couple games and then watch Vancouver lay an egg. Course, I wouldn't bet on that happening though. Vancouver has slayed their dragon and is looking for more.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Now that Vancouver has broker the curse of not beating the Blackhawks I'm really excited about this series. Nashville is a gritty team and I'm sure they will be ready. Vancouver has a lot of dept and not as much rest but I really wouldn't be suprised if this went to 7 games again. Guest Heaten Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I would pick Vancouver in 6, but after watching Canucks choke job against the 8th seed team and making it to round 2 by the skin of their teeth, I can't predict 'Nucks will pull this series out. Nashville will grind them down and outwork them. Trotz is arguably a top 5 coach in the NHL and knows how to motivate his team. Canucks prove to be mental midgets with questionable coaching. Sedin's have been a no-show and Ryan Kesler has been playing like a 3rd/4th line shut-down guy. Burrows won't be able to carry the offense in this series. My prediction is leaning towards another choke job by the Canucks.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I was listening to NHL home ice and they were talking about tonight's game. My first thought was, "they are starting tonight!?" Great surprise to a pretty crappy day. Now I'm stoked. Vancouver in 6.

Great surprise to a pretty crappy day. Now I'm stoked. Vancouver in 6. Just like last year when the Wings won in game 7 and pretty much had to play San Jose a couple days later. I would like to think that Vancouver is worn out after that long series, but the Preds had a hard fought 6 game series themselves. I just don't see the Preds standing a chance in this series unless Rinne stands on his head.
Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I have no desire to watch this series at all. Nashville hockey bores me to tears. They're like the Wild were a few years back. "Let's ride a hot goalie and wait for one of our too-numerous pluggers to score a goal, then lock down the game." It may win games, and they could very well beat Vancouver, but it'll probably be too tedious to enjoy.
Broken 16 381 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) Ignoring the regular season series split between these two teams Vancouver has more guns up front and a MUCH deeper D. On the other hand, and note to Kesler and Burrows, Weber can hospitalize players who drop to stop pucks Lopsided talent advantage to Vancouver so my gut says Canucks in 5, six if they absolutely must take a siesta game. What guns? Kesler? Ok. The Sedin's are pea shooters. Nashville nearly upset one of best offensive teams in recent history last playoffs. Don't be surprised if the Sedin's do next to nada. Guest Save The Octopus Report post Posted April 29, 2011 (edited) That's how I watch the NBC games. If hockey is the only thing you want on cable, hooking a computer up to your tv is a good option. I'm a stickler about quality. Yes, I realize this is funny after what I just admitted too. I can never find too many high quality streams outside of game center, but then I have to deal with the blackouts. I like to watch TV in general though so cable isn't a complete waste. Preds PK takes care of business. 1:29 of fresh ice PP time for the Preds when play resumes in the 2nd. Edited April 29, 2011 by Save The Octopus
