I don't hate them. I hate the Blackhawks and Penguins. But I'm not gonna lie, a small part of me wanted chicago to win, so that there would be one less west coast team we would have to go through. Mainly for home ice and earlier start to road games. I know, I know, selfish

As for the team, I like a lot of their players and think they are a good team. It will be a good western conference finals when the canucks play the wings!

I dislike the canucks because I live in Canada and had to put up with many of their fans acting like they had already won the cup in march. In addition, the Canadian media bias towards them (because they are the only good canadian team in the playoffs) is unbelievable. Up until the blackhawks took it to 7 games the many canuck fans I know were acting like their team was the greatest thing since sliced bread. As a fan of another team, it can be very irritating when a team that hasn't accomplished a thing yet has fans that think their team is unbeatable.

I think this is just imagined.. all season long, all you heard on the sports radio shows/newspapers in Vancouver is that none of this matters because the playoffs are where you really prove yourself. We've had enough regular season success that we all know it means almost squat (tho home ice advantage in game 7 last night definitely helped).
There are definitely homers on the local sports television networks (John Garrett being probably the biggest one) but when you start looking at CBC (Canada's national television network), you'll realize that they only cheer for the Canucks if there are no Eastern teams to root for. I have no problem with local networks being biased towards the city they cover, nor do I have a problem with National Canadian television to have a biased towards the Canadian team. Why shouldn't they? They're catering to the markets that view their channel.
I hate it as much as you when people pre-plan the parade route (fans like that in every city, imho)

I hate every team and their fanbase. Has nothing to do with Vancouver particularly.

1) Toronto
2) Montreal
3) Vancouver
4) Ottawa
Things in the hockey world can get pretty annoying when the Canucks and Senators are looking good, but Lord help us when the Canadiens or Maple Leafs have even a remote chance. Thankfully the world wide web did not exist back when they last won a Cup.

Then when ever someone brings up Loungo stats, they say that series is over and point to his regular season stats. hell, even some guys on HF are even trying to pimp Loungo's winning game stats, while excluding his losing game stats.
In short, the Canucks fan base is horrible and I don't want them to ever win a cup. I would much rather Canucks continue to be perinial failures in teh post season, and the owner sells the franchise to some Casino owner in Las Vegas Nevada. That would please me.

Busy complaining? Wow. I'm not interested in allowing you to twist my words anymore to let you take out your anger on me, but I will categorize your hate for the Canucks to be based on a couple poor management decisions on hockey transactions that you take personally. I asked a question and will not judge your answer.
"I'm going to clip part of your post and quote it completely out of context to try and make you look bitter and jaded while both myself and the Canucks are pure and unsoiled."
"I once devoured a monk's soul. It tasted like chocolate."

If Detroit can't manage the finals I wouldn't mind a new team win it...
I will admit I get pretty tired playing against the Canucks like 90% of the time I play online NHL11 (on xbox, obviously, you poor poor PS3 players)

Their organization whines almost as much as their fans, Sedins dive, Burrows dives, Luongo dives a lot, the fanbase overall is annoying and always talk up their team which has never won anything,
Good summation, there, actually.
I've lived all over the world. In '98 I moved to Bellingham and tried to become a Canucks fan (2nd to the Wings, of course).
But Brian Burke was an unbelievable whiner. He was incredibly condescending in every interview I ever heard on The Team 1040. In short, he was a jackass. ("If Trevor Linden gets a better offer than what I gave him, I'll drive him to the airport"). Crawford was an ass in his interviews too. Always defensive, etc.
It trickled down thru the organization and the team, although incredibly talented, was rancid.
Matt Cooke.
Dave Nonis was Burke Jr. Schooled by Burke and was a walking Mini Me of Burke. Made some good moves, but the guys attitude was impossilbe to like.
The Green Guys.
The "Luuuuuuuuuuu" everytime a puck hits Luongo in the logo. Annoying, 2nd only to the Jordan Tootoo whistle. If you want to heap praise on a player, you wait for the player to accumulate a few great moments and then when he ragdolls an opponent and turns the tide of a game, all 18,000 of you chant his name in unison: "Todd Ber TU Zi!"
Gillis is also super condescending in his interviews to the Team 1040. He is getting a little better, but just the other day I was thinking what a great interview Ken Holland is. Holland, Babcock, Devallano, Nil, the Illitch's, all people I would love to have over to my house for dinner. Not Gillis.
Gillis is smart, though. He refers to Detroit as the Gold Standard for NHL franchises and that's what he wants to do in Vancouver. That's cool. It seems he has that team set up real well. On the other hand, who locks an unproven goalie up for 12 years? And I guess we will see about the Sedins. I've liked them for a long time and stood up for them when Canuck fans called them the Sedin Sisters. I am super glad that the twins won the Art Ross back to back. (Can you imaing eif Burke would have signed them in Toronto before Gillis resigned them, and they won the Art Ross back to back in Torontao instead of Vancouver!
It's cool that they have a Michigan boy leading the charge.
AV is a likeable coach. I'm glad he is doing well.
I've tried to like Burrows but just can't.
I like Sammy, and Erhoff was a great addition. Torres? I just don't know about that guy. Manny Malhotra is a class act. (Married to NBA Steve Nash's sister) I wish him all the best in his recovery.
Vancouver's attitude after beating Chicago was not right.
I don't hate the Canucks, but they make it difficult to like them. A lot of people in Bellingham feel that way.
