All of this "we can't win 4 of 5" stuff is bulls***, because that's not the way the Wings or the Sharks will look at it. Say this series is 2-2 after 4 games. Does it matter how it gets there? Is there a difference between each team being 2-0 at home or each team going 1-1 at home? Are the Wings out of it even if it's 2-2? The answer is no.

Actually if the series is 2-2 then last nights loss will loom large b/c it will be the difference b/t being up 3-1 or tied 2-2 and having another tough road game. So yea last night's loss was huge b/c they blew the f***in lead and thus a golden opportunity to move ahead.

Yeah, that's true, but it's time to put that behind us. If you think that the Wings will be thinking about what could have been in game one when it's time to play game five (or any game for that matter), then you're crazy.

I know as Red Wing fans we all have a tendency to over think everything. So I'm, not going to watch game 2 not because I'm disgusted with the officiating but because I'm going to work. No worries though I have tickets to game 3 on Wednesday night. Go Wings hopefully no diving. Hopefully a win

Just to put this in perspective.....The wings have lost ONE game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs....One game...in overtime- After all the crazy 7 game series, comebacks and breakdowns, we do NOT need to panic yet. Relax, enjoy...they will be fine!

Yeah, too many people are way too negative. Do I ***** about players or the team when they play bad sure, most of us and fans of other teams do but the next game I try to be optimistic. But to dismiss the team after one loss in overtime is a bit over the top.

I tend to agree. I can't see the wings coming back being behind 2-0 to the sharks. But I could be wrong. Anyways Tom is a huge game I hope they come out and bust some ass.

Were so spoiled as fans and some of us critique the team a little too harsh but I think its because we know what the players individually and as a team is capable of doing and we know they can very well blow the Sharks out of the water if they put forth the effort (regardless of any horrible officiating).

Whether its the paranoid fans or the overly optimistic ones, I think we can all agree we need this win tomorrow. Go Wings go Howie needs your help

I didnt ever say san jose is going to win the series. I just said that it would be extremely hard coming back from a 2-0 deficit. I think the wings are a better team than the sharks, they just have to go prove it and play how they know how to play. Than they will be fine.

Ssdly the Sharks have our number. As soon as the Canucks beat the Hawks in Game 7 I knew we were in trouble. No amount of rest will help Detroit match-up better against the Sharks. They have the size, speed and strength advantage, they feast off our style of play.

I hope I'm wrong with my prediction of SJ to win this series, but I didn't like what I saw in G1. We need to come out skating much, much better tonight.

Wings had a near perfect game one and everyone is freaking out. We weathered the storm of a long lay off and almost pulled off a win on the road. Who cares if we got dominated on the stat sheet? Truth is, we brought the Sharks to OT in their home arena while playing short handed the entire second, third, and OT. We just need to steal one of the next two in San Jose and we have the series won because I don't see San Jose winning in Detroit. I mean, look at all the line matching Babcock had to try and do FFS.

It took you too long to set things up. San Jose had things up quicker than you. They dominated with their GDT. Sadly I don't see this GDT being able to top theirs, not today and definitely not if the series becomes 2-0 San Jose. God I hate the Sharks. I bet the refs help with their GDT threads. Their mod must work for Bettman. It's going to be a long game if this GDT doesn't get its act together. Maybe Matt can fire up our posters and we won't embarrass ourselves in front on the Shark posters.

Its not like San Jose ran away with game 1 so we just need to get more shots at the net, split Dats and Z up except for on powerplays. I have nothing against the Sharks, but I don't see how the Wings can't score on Niemi, hes not that good of a goaltender I don't care if he has won a cup. Franzen has to shoot the puck, Cleary has to shoot the puck, anything can happen when you fire the puck, that's how the Sharks won in overtime.

I won't be able to watch the game since I have to play keys for the final performance of Phantom of the Opera this afternoon at a neighboring school, but I think the Wings come out and make a statement today. If Jimmy plays as solid as he did in game 1 the rest of the way and offense actually gets a decent amount of shots on Niemi from here on out then the Wings will be just fine.

Here's hoping the Red Wings from the first round show up and Jimmy Howard from Friday shows up. We need everyone playing like Howie and Pavel did Friday. If we can do that, Wings can handle the Sharks no problem. As much as they should have won Game 1 save for the bogus penalty to tie it, its probably better that the Wings didn't win when they didn't show up. Losses create urgency, which the Wings sorely need.

Here is hoping for a solid, willful game by the Wings and that the refs do their jobs right and stay out of the f*cking way. So long as the officiating is consistent and the Wings show up, this series is theirs.
