WCSF Game 6 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 3

Great job by the Wings, glad they proved me wrong when I thought they were done in five after going down 3-0.

Although after the Cleary f*** up on the breakaway, looking at the shot totals and the lucky goal by Couture, I was kind of in a mindset of the bad Detroit where they would get 20 shots or so more than the opposition and lose one to nothing or something like that. So glad they proved me wrong there too.

GO WINGS! And in the words of Mortal Kombat(slightly tweaked) - FINISH THEM!

I disagree. The Sharks could be a bit fragile right now and trailing early might not sit well with them. Lets be real.........they've never won anything.

My point is that it is not about the Sharks. It about the Red Wings. It is do or die again, just like it was tonight and like it was Sunday. If they play like they did tonight, they will win.

I don't deserve to cheer for this team. As soon as the Sharks got that garbage goal despite Detroit thoroughly outplaying them, I assumed the worst. Two quick goals left me in ashamed silence. Nothing else to say but kudos. Get it done Thursday gents and if you don't you went down swinging anyway.

Whatever happens Thursday night, I am so proud of these guys. They have answered the call and shown what a class bunch they are.

We're grateful to you for such an amazing comeback, and we know you have it in you to go to Vancouver and prove you're not a fluke.

This WILL be history.

Hey brother/sister. It happens to the best of us. Pick yourself up off the floor and continue to be jovial and cheerful until Thursday, at which you (like I) will hopefully just be drunk and celebrating a historic accomplishment for this historic squad.

Much appreciated. I get down on them too much but deep down I know they are capable of greatness.

He had a hell of a game tonight, even if he did miss on that breakaway.

yeah, hell of a game if you ignore that breakaway fail. countless board battles lost (as usual) and pretty much useless.

...hell of a game.

TSN's guys, and Versus' guys all said this was his best game of the series. f***, the extreme negativity isnt even funny or amusing.

We fan's in Finland are so happy for Red Wings / Detroit and myself i think wings going to win game 7 :) Pav is best hockeyplayer in the world / hardest worker and Fil showed again that he's good playoff player. Btw Fil's nickname in Finland is Valle :) Let's go red wings !!

I disagree, he and pretty much all the rest of the Wings had a great night winning puck battles, moving it quickly out of the defending zone, and controlling it in the attacking zone.

Despite what that Stinky Fish Dick guy said, Cleary did have a great game and, IMO, has been having a great series, I remember, back in 2007 against the Flames, identifying him as the type of player that you need in the playoffs. He always goes hard into every battle and plays with that special edge. There is a short list of guys that I wouldn't mind being traded, but Cleary isn;t one of them. He just has that heart and determination that - if we're at a loss (which we never should be) - can carry us forward. Look to him in Game 7, much like in Game 7 of the '09 Western Conference semis. It won't necessarily be pretty, but we know that he'll be there to do something special if the situation does arise.

I thought you quit after game three. Didn't you say we were all morons if we didn't see the series was over? Oh, well; I guess you're back to be negative again after one of the team's most inspiring wins of the last decade.

Silly man.

I think you might lack the requisite stomach for the playoffs. Can't you be happy and hopeful for once?

Holy s***. I just got back home. I'm glad I know the owner of the restaurant here or I probably would have been thrown out :D I haven't been this excited to watch a hockey game in years. I was getting so frustrated after two periods with all the close chances but there was something about this game where I just knew, no matter what, we would win.

Oh my god, I haven't screamed a name like I screamed Val Fil's ever. A little after San Jose's goal, the restaurant's radio started playing Hotel California and I told my dad that it was a sign that Detroit would need a hotel in California for Thursday night and the game would be tied by the end of the song. Don Henley proved me wrong... just as the song ended, Val Fil pocketed his goal and I didn't stop screaming for two minutes.

Everyone played Detroit hockey tonight and it payed off. I haven't watched a team dominate a game like we did tonight since the 02 Wings. Sleep tonight? I doubt it.
