I've come to realize that your opinion about Kesler should be thrown out the same way they throw out the high and low scores in Olympic skating. You're the Russian judge.

Given the angry rants, I'd say with vodka.

Unless your name is Malkin of course then it's not so mandatory.

So the Sharks have made it to the WCF 2 years in a row and are a combined 1-7 which will be 1-8 after Tuesday.

To see them lose because of 5 on 3's. Wow. That was SWEEEEEEEEEEEET.

What next for the Sharks. They have already changed their coach, their goaltender and their Captain. I think they need to blow it up because they can't win with the guys that they have. No leadership.

7 straight years of 99 points or more and zero Stanley Cup Finals appearances.

SEVEN ZERO

wow. and hahahhahahahahahaha

Malkin wasn't the only one to have his game suspension rescinded on that rule that playoff year.

Get some perspective.

Maybe so but he was their best player and it was the finals. The decision affected who won the Cup. Plain and simple.

Read the last 6 or so pages of this thread... I am not the only one who lost respect for Kesler. I'm just not candy coating it... he's a ****** bag on skates.

I am not sure what you expect from Kesler when Clowe is the one who initiated.

Remember game 4 of last series? You don't have to do anything to get Clowe to want to punch you in the face.

They were both hacking and whacking. Of course Clowe is going to come after Kesler when the game is over. He actually has something to gain from it.

Kesler could've easily skated away or gone to congratulate his goaltender. It's not like I'm justifying what Clowe did. He was gooning it up because his team lost. but that doesn't change Kesler collapsing like he'd been shot. I know he's tougher than that.

It's just one minor play. Mainly I'm just bummed by the amount of diving by both teams. This is the Western conference finals. It should be playoff hockey, instead it's embarrassing. I feel like I'm watching soccer.

They need to take a long hard look at their top three for sure. Thornton has been good overall. Marleau has turned it around this series, but Heatley has been invisible. It's like the three of them take turns disappearing.

I wasn't liking their chances with Niemi either. I know he's got a Cup, but if it was against a team with decent goaltending, Chicago probably doesn't win. Though maybe it's just not needed as much anymore. There don't seem to be any elite playoff goalies right now.

I don't think they need to blow it up, but they need to make one big change maybe to try and alter the chemistry and culture of that team. Do they have any Cup winners in their lineup other than Boyle? Maybe they need more veteran presence with guys who have been there before and know what it takes.

Is there any way we can make the Eastern Conference finals the Cup finals?

I support this statement 100%!

Maybe so but he was their best player and it was the finals. The decision affected who won the Cup. Plain and simple.

Malkin playing didn't decide the series. Wings won the first two games of the series, in which Malking played, and then just got outplayed the rest of the way.

You're the only Nuck fan that doesn't realize that Kesler is a massive diver. All of HFBoards knows and even the Nucks main forum knows it. So either 99% of the hockey fan population is wrong, or you are wrong.

Post 416. Previous page.

I can understand the comment though Doc. Kesler does embellish. In this case though, I'm not so sure.

Oops.

It was the right call.

If it was the right call then it was the wrong rule.

You can't have it both ways. He clearly was trying to send a message and the rule clearly said that it required a mandatory suspension. If you don't like the rule fair enough but we don't need rules that aren't enforced.

So the Conn Smyth winner didn't decide the series? Huh? The Wings lost by 1 goal in a seven game series and you think that taking the Conn Smyth winner out of game 6 would not have made the difference.

I don't know what to say to that.

Holy straw man!

First two games 1+1 (both Pittsburgh loses), last two games 0+1 (both Pittsburgh wins). 10 SOG in the first two games and 5 SOG in the last two games. -2 the first two games, +1 the last two games. Hell, the game we was "suppose to be suspended for" he played terrible. He wasn't the reason we lost. You really need to form your arguments better if you're going to be condescending.

That's interesting, because i remember him having 2 assists in a 3-2 win for pitt

Well lets hope San Jose can pull off a comeback... Vancouver in the Final would just be the worst

Yeah, because San Hosay has so many fans here in the US.

Either way, league won't get the Final ratings they've gotten the past 3 seasons.

If Boston makes it, they might since Boston is a huge market.

Tampa Bay vs San Jose would yield the worse. Boston vs Vancouver would have huge rating.

Game 6

hmmm... don't know what i was thinking of then, maybe my pure hatred of that series clouded what actually happened haha

EDIT: I've figured out our confusion. The Malkin incident happened at the end of Game 2. He came back in Game 3 and recorded a playmaker in a 4-2 victory (forgot the empty netter)

Give me the Sedins in the finals any day over Thornton, Heatley, and the rest of that crew. Plus, SJ getting blown out of the WCF is at least some compensation for the Wings not taking care of business. Still would have loved to have added blowing a 3-0 series lead to their playoff resume. The Wings would likely not have gotten past the Nucks anyways but a trip to the WCF would have been nice. Van-Tampa is my preference.

p.s. This could be an enigma for Don Cherry, if a Canadian team gets to the finals, but their star players are European - lol

On one hand, the Wings couldn't get past a team that's getting their asses handed to them by the Canucks. So, you might think, "Wow the Wings really weren't that good this year if the team that beat them is struggling this badly in the conference finals."

But when you look at the hypothetical Datsyuk/Zetterberg versus Sedin/Kesler match up and you gotta think that the Wings would have made it harder on the Nucks' top six than the Sharks have.
