Where is the Pavel Datsyuk appreciation thread?

I beleive this is the year Pav can win the Hart Trophy. As long as he stays healthy he will be right there for the Scoring Lead and if you combine that with his Faceoff and takeaway stats along with being the best defensive forward in the game I think he can be MVP.

If the season ended today they'd give it to Malkin. Leading the league in scoring while playing fewer games, plus the "no Crosby" storyline is a potent combination; meanwhile it's just "Wings are great, again," for Pavel. Fortunately there's still 30 games left for him to possibly crank it up and pull away. Go, Pavs, go!

We all like to hear this...

"Am I playing some of my best hockey? I hope not," Datsyuk said. "I think I'm playing somewhere in the middle. I hope to have more energy in my game. I have another level as I get older and get more experience. I can be better and I will."

Well...it's true. Datsyuk should be past his prime at this point, according to sports fans criteria. He should be on the downswing of his career, yet each year he gets more and more dangerous. I think his special skill level, combined with not getting too banged up, is going to lead to a lengthy career. Like Lidstrom, I think he'll be a top player in the league well into his late 30s, and maybe early 40s like Selanne. I don't really see Datsyuk ever not playing on the top line.

A decade later, Datysuk still has the fire to be among the game's elite.

"When you win one Cup or any awards you get so hungry you want to win every year," he said. "But when you miss a year not winning you get more hungry. You want to do better. You think it's yours and you try to get it back again."

Someone from HF translated this article:

Starts in post #70. Pavel on the skills contest-

PD: -Unfortunately I didn’t think it thru what to do during the shoot out attempt. And Lundquist played well.

Q: -Disappointed?

PD: -To be honest, yes. I didn’t have a lot to do. I really wanted to participate in “The best drinker” and “Best singer” contests, but for some reason they didn’t have them…

Drunken karaoke night with him sounds like it would be tons of fun and a worthy addition to All Star weekend.

I'd pay to see that one! But you know, I bet he would have a good singing voice.
