Our team could have been swept out of the second round in a fashion that would make all the talking heads discuss our team's age and how their time is over. And we would've had to hear it all Summer long.

We also could have never seen games 4, 5, or 6.

Hey, it could be worse...it could've been the historic Red Wings who made the Sharks shed their choker label. Oh, wait...
Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

The Sharks still choked, someone just gave them the Heimlich.

Did you mess with Kronner's eyes in your avatar or am I the one messed up?

It could be worse, we could have Crybaby on our team.

My cousin is from the Bay Area and apparently they now hate Nik. He texted me relaying his hope that Clowe would level him and Eager would fight him. :lol:

We could have Barry Melrose as head coach.

We could have the Islander's draft history:

1(5) = 1st round, 5th overall
GP = Games played in the NHL
S = Season(s) with Islanders
PA = People drafted between that position and the following spot that are of note.

I started at the most recent year that we drafted somebody currently on our roster (Abdelkader). I stopped listing Islander picks after the 5th round, just those that were available and are of note. The 1989 draft is interesting. :)

The longest a player has played for the Islanders since the year he was drafted is around 5 1/2 seasons. That honor goes to Scott Lachance, drafted in 1991. Compare that to to our 53rd overall pick in 1989 - a Mr. Nicklas Lidstrom.

I know a lot of luck goes into drafting, but there seems to be a trend of ineptitude here.
