There are no words to express my joy over this. At least not in a PG fashion. So I'll just give you an image.

I'd take Hitchcock.

I wonder if Bob "The Boogieman" Boughner stepped down in Columbus to be defense coach here since we are a lot closer to Windsor?!?

I hear Ken Hitchcock is on the market for a job... Could he fit in nicely with Babcock as our Defensive Coach? Didn't they work together at some point (Olympics)?

I've heard New Jersey wants him, and I think he would rather be a head coach over a defensive coach

I was actually hoping Hitchcock would take over for McCrimmon last offseason with the news of him going to the Wings training camp

I think he'll probably get a head coaching job this year though

Any chance it's Cheli's job already or too soon? Not saying I'd want that, just something that crossed my mind.

I want Vancouvers old Defensive Coach. Ryan Walter, he also ran their PP. Only reason I want him is because I'm buddies with his son. Free Tickets!

I'm not a Hitchcock fan at all. I'd rather have Cheli. I say they hire a temp until Lids retires (years from now) and then give it to him.
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

I honestly forgot all about the possibility of Chelios... Good call

If you go to the Hottest Wings thread, starting around page 923 and on to about 925 (I think) there are some pics of Cheli practicing with the Wings during the Phoenix series and he is wearing Coach Clothes.

Just sayin'.

As a heterosexual man, I cannot find myself in that thread other than my actual pics.

Step 1: Fire McCrimmon
Step 2: Hire/Promote new defensive coach
Step 3: sign Ehrhoff/Bieksa
Step 4: Howard plays like he did in playoffs all season...
Step 5: Win Jennings for least amount of goals conceded..

I'd take Erhoff over Bieksa. Bieksa makes too many tunovers and would crumble under the wrath of LGW. He often looks like Sammy when he gets the puck; unsure of what to do with it, then panics and turns it over.

And he's kind of a dick, he doesn't have the class to wear the red sweater.

I know I said I was out of here until the draft, but this was too big to ignore....

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Long overdue in my mind, so far, this is the perfect beginning to the off-season!

All I have to say about Holland and our off-season:

Holland is a damn good GM. period.

Thought so until he came out on the diving stuff. I think he would in fact be the perfect fit. He has been absolutely stellar lately and if he was with Kronner??? Psshhh, yes please.

I've never been so excited for an assistant coaching change. Woohoo! We're on the right track!

Posted Image I enjoy these lines thoroughly. I would almost think Kronner moves up to first pairing to limit Lids' minutes a tad and have Kron with Bieker. Yep, its hockey, I have to give nicknames almost immediately.

So maybe the organization FINALLY noticed what we've all seen these past few seasons.

Turning point, yo.
