InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted May 22, 2011 2011-2012 ROSTER SIZE: 15 SALARY CAP: $63,500,000 CAP PAYROLL: $46,808,712 PROJ. CAP SPACE: $16,691,288 Just because I like the aesthetics better, here's what it looks like in lines (not trying to get into a line argument, just putting them down): Franzen ($3,954,5450 - Datsyuk ($6,700,000) - Zetterberg ($6,083,333) Hudler ($2,875,000) - Filpula ($3,000,000) - Cleary ($2,800,000) Bertuzzi ($1,937,500) - Abdelkader ($787,500) - Holmstrom ($1,875,000) ? - Helm ($912,500) - ? Kronwall ($3,000,000) - Rafalski ($6,000,000) Stuart ($3,750,000) - Kindl ($883,333) ? - ? Howard ($2,250,000) ? There's $16,691,288 left for five spots. The most likely resigns are Lidstrom at his current salary, $6,200,000, and Eaves at about $1,000,000. That leaves $9,491,288 to get a back up goalie, a defenceman and one forward. Let's slot the back up goalie at $1,000,000 which is more than should be needed and the number is now $8,491,288. I don't know if that helps anyone or not, but it makes a little more sense to me now. Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted May 22, 2011 Lidstrom won't re-sign for less than 6mil. he'll be the highest paid DMan next season if he does come back. Him even being offered less is an insult and in no way would Kenny or Mr. Illitch do that.

At this point I think its all up to lids, Illitch and Holland won't throw a number, they Lidstrom literally can name his price, terms, and the wings management will give it to him. Guest Heaten Report post Posted May 22, 2011 Holland said he expects Lidstrom to have a decision before draft, if not sooner.

cjm502 165 Report post Posted May 22, 2011 Lids will be back, and I do not see how being paid less than another defenseman is an insult. He is going to be 42 next season. I think our captain is a little more mature than to be insulted by another players salary.
