Good for Malhotra. Now if only Sammy could play...

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Sammy is the only member of the team with a Ring. That makes him "veteran leadership", so even if he is injured, he is still contributing.

Three years ago today.

Luc Bourdon (February 16, 1987 – May 29, 2008) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL) and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, from 2006 until 2008. After overcoming childhood arthritis, he was selected third overall in the 2003 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) draft and played for the Val-d'Or Foreurs, Moncton Wildcats, and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, spending four seasons in the QMJHL. The Canucks drafted Bourdon with their first selection, tenth overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Noted as a strong defenceman who could contribute on offence, Bourdon represented Canada in three international tournaments, winning two gold medals at the IIHF World U20 Championship and a silver medal at the IIHF World U18 Championship. Bourdon died at the age of 21 near his hometown of Shippagan, New Brunswick, when his motorcycle collided with a tractor trailer.

Bourdon was killed instantly in a motorcycle collision in Lamèque, New Brunswick, near his hometown of Shippagan on May 29, 2008, when he hit a tractor-trailer after losing control of his 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and crossing the centre line. Environment Canada showed winds gusting to more than 50 km/h (31 mph) in the area at the time of the accident. The RCMP stated that Bourdon's inexperience with motorcycles may have been a factor in the crash.

Sad. I was going through some hockey cards earlier today and came across a Luc Bourdon rookie card. I know he passed in May of 2008, but I wasn't sure what day exactly.

Bourdon and Burrows were very close. When Burrows does that archer thing after a big goal that's in memory of Luc.

For awhile there it seemed like tragedy was following members of the Canucks. Less than a year after Bourdon was killed Taylor Pyatt's fiance was also killed in an accident.

I think I already posted this in this thread, but Boston doesn't stand a chance. Maybe they can squeeze one game out, but they've been much shakier than Vancouver up to this point in a weaker conference. We're talking a repeat of the Anaheim-Ottawa final in '07.

I'm not going to be around as much during the finals guys. Got asked to help out on another hockey board. It will probably take a lot of my time, at least for now.

I know you will all miss the absolute hell out of me.

And please be kind to my team. :P

I think Boston are a much better team than you give them credit for. Good depth up front, excellent goaltending. I actually think they stand a good chance of winning.

By the way, great job of the NHL to schedule almost a week off between Boston's Game 7 and the start of the Final(s). Wish Detroit would have gotten that kind of rest a few years ago. Way to capitalize on the momentum, give everyone a week to forget that hockey isn't over yet. THE NBA FINALS are starting before the Stanley Cup Finals!

Wait...so Bettman didn't schedule Games 1 and 2 to be on consecutive days? But I thought it was best for ratings!!!!

Even I forgot about the Finals for a little bit. I smell disastrous ratings for this final series.

The only way Boston can win this series is if:

A: They stay out of the penalty box. Vancouvers powerplay is BRUTAL.

B: Tim Thomas puts on a cape and becomes superman, which is possible.

Hopefully the refs put their whistles away for this one. Minus the Tampa/Boston Game 7 they've done quite fantastically at ******* up games and series'.
