Smug are the "fans" of teams that have a relatively successful history telling fans of another team how they should act when their team is being successful.
The reality is the fans have little to nothing to do with the outcome of the games, so as self assured and arrogant as many Wings fans can be they really have no reason to be that way.
Wings fans merely support a team that had the likes of Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov, Shanahan, Hull, Chelios, Larionov, Robitaille, Rafalski, Zetterburg, Datsyuk, Hasek....etc...etc...etc over the last 15 seasons.
Why not let Vancouver fans enjoy their success? It's not as though the Wings were affected by the Canucks at all this season.
As for those saying the Canucks aren't even a good SCF team or potential winner. That's ridiculous. No team, not even the Wings has finished first in GF/GA, points and PP% in the same season since the 1970s.
Sure the Canucks almost lost to Chicago, but the reality is they did not lose. One could say the Wings almost beat SJ, but that would be a pretty pointless conversation.
If I was a Wings fan I'd be happy with my team's success over the last few years but I wouldn't cut down my opponent's success in a fit of bitterness as I wouldn't see the point in being negative long after my team had wrapped up their season and hit the lynx.
Because Canucks fans act arrogant even when their team has had no success (which is all but 3 seasons in their history).
That's why other teams' fans have been afraid of this moment for a while. I can't understand why Canucks fans are surprised that other fanbases are hostile towards them. I mean I don't get surprised when people hate on the Wings.
You have to win championships before you can be arrogant. Otherwise, it just comes off as silly behavior. That's what's always annoyed me about the behavior of Nucks fans. No previous success, but still arrogant.

Burrows played, oh well, get over. If you're letting Burrows beat you and the Sedins aren't the ones beating you, then you have some problems.
They need all that fat up there due to the cold.Vancouver's finest no doubt.

That's awesome by Cherry. "No you stop it!"Grapes is spot on.
How it used to be -
But I thought all the douchey s*** like Burrows does is as old as the game of hockey? The diving, hiding behind refs, biting?
Ahh Harold, what a crazy bastard that guy was. Laughing at Clark. Just awesome.
The thing is, it's not like Burrows is a marginal player doing whatever it takes to stay on the team. That's the disturbing trend. The diving and antics like Burrows is happening more and more with star players. H. Sedin is a friggin Art Ross and Hart winner, and he's diving out there worse than Forsberg ever did. And Floppa at least had the excuse that it was the clutch and grab era so he had guys waterskiing off of him the whole game.
The Sedins, Kesler, Thorton, Dustin Brown, and on and on. It's annoying. If I wanted to watch guys flop and then cry to the refs all the time, I'd watch the NBA. Or worse, soccer.
Instead of Roenick calling out Marleau for being gutless, I wish former players who are analysts would call out these guys for diving and crying so much. Biting a guys finger, falling down like you've been shot, that's not old time hockey.

I doubt everyone knows that's Pam Anderson. This has been done before in Vancouver, with great success:
Just watched an interview with Trevor Linden. Ron McLean doing it.
Linden tells of how he used to get to the rink at 4:00 p.m. and hang out with the Sedins. He said if the Wings were playing that the Sedins had to have the game on. They admired the Wings that much.
If you can get CBC the interview starts a little after the 26 minute mark, Sedins/Wings about 27:10: http://www.cbc.ca/vi...8/ID=1969031229

I love the Burrows hate, just like I loved all the Bertuzzi hate when he played for Vancouver, makes these wins all that much sweeter. Don't be looking too forward to next season though, Canucks will still have most of their crew for the next few years so chances are good you'll witness your nightmare all over again as the Nucks make it two in a row
Probably be a good idea then if every member of every team - other than the Canucks of course - got tetanus shots. Or better yet, rabies vaccine.
And forget the Finger Thing. Maybe more useful would be brass knuckles that fit in hockey gloves to wipe the arrogant smirks off the faces of the Canucks.

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.
Money on the Board - 100 bucks on the base. From here on, one buck per puck IN goal, win or lose!
Total right now: $105.

Excuse me, the two thousand and what? Thought I head some talk about yesterdecade or something?
Here's the thing, people should know better than to stick their fingers in a killer whale's mouth, they have big teeth and he was lucky to come away with nothing more than a flesh wound. Tonight Burrows did much much worse and bit himself off a bear paw, thus leaving Boston to limp back home for game #3
Burrows' big fat teeth do indeed look at least like horses' teeth. And we can pretty much agree here that wholly speaking, he's a horses' ass.

I'd be plenty pissed if I were a Bruins fan.
I'd be pissed that we lost after being the better team. Being pissed about Burrows playing is stupid. Burrows played, get over it, I bet the players didn't care...except Lappy lol.

I laugh at the people who are pissed because Burrows played so well when he should have been suspended. Of course he should have been suspended, but since he wasn't,f****** play good and don't worry about it. I laugh at the same people who said since Malkin wasn't suspended we lost the cup. Tough s***, Malkin played and we should have been more prepared like we were the previous two games where he played instead of coming out and sucking.

My biggest issue with biting now being allowed in the NHL is make the sport no longer a family sport. I use to watch hockey with my kid (just a couple weeks ago), but since NHL now allows biting, I can no longer let my child watch this sport anymore.
NHL has become a trashy sport since Burrows biting people, moreso the NHL allowing it happen.
(he bites people, how a sane person can bite another human being is beyond me - if he's capable of biting, he's probably capable of doing other sadistic things, perhaps to women and children) - I can't let my child see that kind of stuff... especially from something that is suppose to be a respectable sport. NBC and Versus should pull the finals and not air anymore games until NHL fixes these issues.

I'm a little surprised Vancouver fans think Burrows biting is a big joke. I wonder how I'd feel if it was one of our Red Wings players were biting people? I think I'd be embarrassed.
I have become embarrassed of being an NHL hockey fan because of it. Canucks fans think it's cute, but I really think Burrows has deep sadistic issues. A full grown man biting people?? That's just embarrassing. Mike Tyson did it, but look were he came from...HE WAS IN PRISON FOR RAPE. Burrows bites people like convicted women rapers. Who knows what else the sadistic pedophile is capable of...
What's even worse, NHL allows it...

I suppose anything shy of breaking someones neck is something to laugh about to some teams fans...
Actually, I remember some laughing at that too.
