No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

The reason Pit really cannot offer Jagr a lot more is even with the Cap going to $64M, they only have $7M available with 6 players to sign in including Tyler Kennedy. Is Kennedy going to cost them $7m? of course not, but Detroit has $16M available and can easily go up to $3M if they wanted to. I am aboard with having Jagr here, he can't hurt this team any adn as long as someone (ahem, couch cough, Hudler, cough) is traded, we don't risk losing Miller/Mursak or Emmerton...

ARE YOU F-KING KIDDING ME?!!

I was out of town and away from internet for a couple of days. And now I am shocked and terrified when I saw the development on this story. I have almost vomit when I read 'Wings offered 2 mils'...

ARE YOU F-KING KIDDING???!!!

This idiot himself has to pay Wings no less than $2 mils to play for the team and he has to pay for a couple thousand season tickets and give it away for charity and then, and only then Wings may consider him...

Mr. Holland, please PASS ON!!! Please do not ruin Nick's last year and his run for the Cup!!!

 Wow....

...when he scores 25-30 goals and has 60+ points, I wonder if people will still be acting this way?

Overreact much?

I just hate this guy, he is latent idiot to say the least.

oh yea.... Jagr will only have 15 points haha.... thats a joke... I feel if he puts up 30-40 points at 1.5 to 2 million we are getting our money worth. I don't really feel he is taking any time away from some prospect that has EARNED that ice time. I'm sorry but Emmerton will be on the roster due to being out of options. Mursak will finally get his chance to play and he brings a speed element and he is just replacing Draper. As far as Miller and Eaves go. I love them both but Eaves brings more to the table and a guy like Miller can be found else where down the road.

This isn't some 4 million dollar contract that is going to restrict us from signing the UFA Defenseman that we want to sign. We wills till be able to accomplish everything we want to accomplish in Free Agency and add a little bit more of a kick to our Offense and PP for a low cost. I fail to see how that is a bad thing?

Give him league's veteran minimum like we offered Nabby ... if he says yes, it would be nice to have some insurance and see what he can do but none of this $2 mill waste.

I bet you felt the same about Modano.

Signing veteran star for one year contract worked once, with Dallas Drake.

I won't work with Jagr. Because he IS a has-been, he has already won everything. He has no real motivation, except (may be) his ego, which in my books does not even count.

He has not produced as expected in KHL he won't produce here.

and above all HE IS AN IDIOT. Anyone who's capable to lose somewhat hundreds of thousands in ONLINE casino is AN IDIOT. Period.

So how do you feel about Darren McCarty... He sure had his fair share of problems..

And great comparison. Compare Jagr with the guy that Suffered a severed tendon in his wrist. I guess your right its a carbon copy because we all figure that Jagr will come here and suffer a freak accident.

Also where does it say he under produced in the KHL. I thought he was consistently in the top 10 over there and was on a PPG player... I dont know many player that but up 80 points in the KHL... Do you???

but don't let that stuff get in the way of your personal vendetta against him...

And this affects his ability to play hockey, how???

Sound like you have personal issues with him, more than his ability to play hockey.

Edit: Fedorov lost over $40 million to a crooked investor. Is he an idiot? Possibly. Did it affect his ability to play the game? Not nearly as much as aging and injuries did.

Well, in your scenario of 15+ points (which is laughable, but anyhow) at least they'll be paying Jagr less than Hudler to do the same thing... Jagr: TONS better option than keeping Hudler.

You can keep what you're smoking, I do not indulge.

Radulov, 80 pts = 20+60, runner up has 66 points, Jags is on 10 place with 53 points.

http://www.khl.ru/stat/leaders/185/pts/

Jagr's stat for the last 3 years in khl is right here: http://www.khl.ru/players/13851/

2008-09: 53 pts

2009-10: 42 pts

2010-11: 50 pts

Sure, it is not exactly bad. But this is KHL. As far as I remember Radulov was nowhere near the top scoring title in the NHL. His best was somewhat around 50 points.

If, god forbid, Jagr is signed, do not expect more that 20 points out of him. If he plays with Dats or Zeta, he's going to wear them up and expect their production to go down a little.

last time I checked Hudler was still in a roster. Am I missing something here? who said he's gone once Jagr's signed?

I quit smoking 7 year ago. But there is a danger for me to start drinking heavily if Jarg signs with Red Wings :)

Why does Kenny Holland keep signing over-the-hill geezers. We are becoming a nursing home rather than a hockey team. Say NO to Jagr and NO to any players over 35 (unless they are named Selanne or Lidstrom.

Why take Selanne but not Jagr ? If Selanne could put up over 80 points, im pretty sure Jagr could do close to the same with Pavs feeding him. No one knows what hes capable of doing, but there is no reason to doubt he can still play the game.

Clearly your smoking has long term effects on your brain. You sound like your going to slit your wrists with every post about Jagr.

loosing to a swindler and in online casino are quite different, don't you think?

what is affecting his ability to play hockey is his age, not being an idiot. But being an idiot may and probably will affect a locker room atmosphere.

I did feel the same about Modano, but a little something called a severed tendon and missing 3 months kind of put an end to him scoring 40-50 points. It's not like Modano played 80 games and only scored 15 points....

Well, I hope in June 2012 we wont be able to say to each other: 'I told you a year ago...', because Jagr sings somewhere else.

I like that roster too, its very similar to a few I have suggested, everything the same except I don't have Richards on my team and I have Jovo over Janik, but if Kindl is ready then Janik would do for a 7th defenseman. I would love Richards, but I tend to believe he is gonna paid more than $7.2M, he made more than that last season....but it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility... I would definitely sacrifice Miller for Richards in this scenario, but I would hope to all hope he gets signed and clears waivers and would be available for injury call-ups...

Didn't they learn their lessons with Hull, Robitaille, Hasek, Larionov, Chelios, Fetisov, Murphy, Drake? It's like they just want to keep winning Stanley Cups or something...

It's funny because all those players you mentioned were effective for the team prior to the lockout sans Drake and he was a different type of player. Jagr will not be the piece to bring a cup to Detroit.

Wings need to be focusing on shoring up the defense and goalie situation before signing forwards....

It's not even July 1st yet Red, they already signed Lidstrom, they pretty much have at the minimum two more spots to fill on D, that is if they are confident in Janik being #7. If not they need to sign three. Back up goalie will probably be a no brainer, they just need a solid enough goalie to play 20-25 games and maybe some playoff experience to come in if Howard cannot go in the playoffs for whatever reason. There have been plenty of names tossed around here that would fill that role, I have not yet ruled out a trade bringing Nabokov in for that role... we shall see starting this Friday at the draft! Raise your glass to Hudler being traded! :beerbuddy:

...so Hasek and Chelios had nothing to do with helping Detroit at all that season?

Jagr wont be THE piece that brings Detroit a Cup, but he can be a very important part of a Cup winning team in Detroit... All the anit-Jagr people here say he is too old, but do they ever mention Holmstrom's age? he is only ONE year younger and is still VERY effective at the role he plays and actually had a very good season and playoff for his age. He had 37 points in 73 games played, another player had 37 points in 73 games last season, but Holmstrom made $1M less than that player, then Holmstrom had 7 points in 11 games in the playoffs, that other player had 3 points in 10 games. What's the point you ask? Holmstrom is old too, but he was better at 38 than Hudler was at 26. You can't write off perhaps the greatest Czech born player entirely just because he is 39. If Jagr signs for $2M and puts in 40-50 points over 80 games, plus 15-20 in the playoffs, then it will be a good signing!
