pucktividi 472 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 I've already mentioned I'd take a risk on Semin. He'd probably cost us in the range of Burns (Flip/Huds+prospect+pick),but we don't have better scoring winger not named Franzen atm.Ok Pulkkinen could be stellar, but he's 3-4 years away from the Wings roster. He's soft and bad defensively, but is there a better team to learn a two way hockey than the Wings?Might be a jackpot if he's able to click with Datsyuk and if not we could shop him at the trade deadline.A 27 years old Russian sniper should still have high value. I hear these same points repeatedly. "He's lazy and bad defensively? Well, the Wings will change him." If this were true, Robert Lang may have retired a Wing. But it isn't. "He's do great with Datsyuk!" Datsyuk cannot play on all four lines. Edited July 12, 2011 by Crymson
pucktividi 472 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 "He's lazy and bad defensively? Well, the Wings will change him." If this were true, Robert Lang may have retired a Wing. But it isn't. It did work with Dan Cleary, beside Lang was traded at the age of 33 and Semin is still relatively young to learn.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 12, 2011 It did work with Dan Cleary, beside Lang was traded at the age of 33 and Semin is still relatively young to learn. Dan Cleary changed BEFORE he came to the team. He realized he would have no job if he did not reform his attitude and his style of play. He has also said that his wife inspired him to do so. Semin is a multimillionaire hockey player with a ton of talent and a bad attitude. He won't change unless he wants to. He hasn't shown any indication of wanting to. Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Maybe a threat to be traded can change his attitude.Yesterday Washington, today Detroit and tomorrow Tallon or Snow ...or we could find him a wife in Detroit ... and he'll still get paid nearly $7m for the season. Rest assured that if it's obvious any team wants badly to unload a player because of his horrible attitude, that team won't get much for him.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Other than the Erik Cole acquisition, Montreal has been relatively quiet. They have plenty of cap space, don't they? James Wisniewski left for Columbus. Roman Hamrlik and Jeff Halpern went to Washington. Benoit Pouliot left for Boston. Tom Pyatt signed with Tampa. Josh Gorges is potentially taking them to arbitration. Big changes again in Montreal this summer? I think so.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Might as well take a gamble on Samsonov if they want to go ways of Semin
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Ducks acquire Andrew Cogliano. Looks as if he'll take Todd Marchant's place as a speedy 3rd/4th line center.
St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Darn. I like Cogliano and I dislike Anaheim. s***e.
St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Also Anaheim is going for the need, the need for speed. Damn, Cogliano will fit in nicely there I reckon. I'm surprised for the lack of love for him since he played some college hockey at Michigan.

Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 Eric Godard signs a 2 year deal with Dallas. Two-way deal for the first year and a 1 way deal for the second. Morrow-Eriksson-Ryder Benn-Ribeiro-Dvorak Ott-Fiddler-Burish Barch-Petersen-Dowell Godard/Wandell Not particularly a fan of him, but i'm happy he found somewhere to play. Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 Steve MacIntyre has signed a one year deal with Pittsburgh. *Smashes his monitor and proceeds to stomp on the mess* Happy he found somewhere to play, but anywhere except Pittsburgh would've been cool. Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 26 pages and I see there is still talk of trading Filppula for Semin? If we need to improve defense, trading one of our best defensive forwards isn't the answer. 2 55fan and Rivalred reacted to this

13dangledangle 958 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 Creepy ass response, but I completely agree with the player comparison. I'd bring on Semin for a 1 year (tryout). Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 brian boyle resigns with NYR And a pretty good deal to boot. If he continues to play at this level, or even gets better, 1.7 per for all he brings is a steal.
