As long as it would take Wade Belak to be sent to the minors here.

So I should comment on his Twitter that getting an apartment on Michigan Ave probably isn't in his best intersts?

He's a wise man, i'm sure he knows.

I don't know, you have to be a bit naive to accept more than you're worth when its coming from Chicago. Seems they have a track record.

Hope the best for Montador, but i'm not sure after seeing all the wheeling and dealing Chicago has done, how he can trust the Hawks braintrust on this one. He will be dealt before his contract is up, and you can quote me on that.

It's at least a million per year too much for him right now...

Over four years, I still think it's an overpayment. Maybe not as much tho.

You have got to be joking. The year is 2011, there is a $64.3M cap, and the dearth of available free agents has produced an enormous seller's market.

Montador had the highest +/- on the Sabres in 2010-11, is a cumulative +39 since the lockout (playing on mediocre teams at best) , and has scored 20+ points each of the last 4 seasons. If you like advanced stats he led all defensemen on the Sabres in GVT, GVT/game, and was 2nd in point share. His corsi numbers were almost identical to Bieksa's in 2011.

To suggest that he is overpaid by "at least a million" is patently absurd given Montador's performance and current market conditions.

Wings making progress with Ericsson and Eaves

Holland said of Ericsson, “Gone back and forth with his agent, made progress. We'll talk again either later tonight or in the morning. We'd like to sign him, he'd like to stay.''

Holland said of Eaves, “Talked with his agent, think we're making progress.''
