sputman 1,268 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 oh no, not more j.p. talk. he's like those 13 year locusts...surviving underground off of root nutrients for years and then flying out and into our radar.
SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 He could be a pretty nice pick-up, because only the past couple seasons has he seen a dip in production. He should be good for 60 points if healthy, and maybe a change of scenery will revive him. He's only 33 years old, so he's not to a point where he should be considerably slowing down. If we could get him in for 1.5 million, especially with Eaves possibly on his way out and Miller in questions, it might not be a bad pick-up. He could play on the second line, either wing. 1 Majsheppard reacted to this

wings87 1,290 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Can he play defense? If not, pass. Kronwall - Stuart Lidstrom - Kindl Ericsson - Dumont Dumont won't cost enough to hurt our chances to get a d-man, so your comment makes no sense.
Guest Heaten Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Dumont won't cost enough to hurt our chances to get a d-man, so your comment makes no sense. The point is Dumont isn't what Detroit needs. The bottom 6 is already set.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 The point is Dumont isn't what Detroit needs. The bottom 6 is already set. Dumont isn't what we need, but I wouldn't say the bottom 6 is set with Eaves and Miller still without deals.
FireCaptain 563 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 I'm with you.. I wanted him the last time when he went to Nashville. Not sure the current version would be worth it tho. Sorry spelled bought, wrong. SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 I would still take Dumont over Miller Seriously, right? I mean, I'm not familiar with his defensive game, but I never remember him being bad when we played against Nashville. I know we were looking to bring him in a few years back. The guy, if healthy and with the right line-mates, could put up 60 points. I think he just lost his way in Nashville the past couple of seasons. He's not a "goat" yet. If we lose Eaves and it comes down to Miller or Dumont at the same price, I'm pretty sure I take Dumont.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Dumont isn't what we need, but I wouldn't say the bottom 6 is set with Eaves and Miller still without deals. Our forward lineup is clearly going to be: Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom Franzen/Filppula/Hudler Mursak/Helm/Cleary Abdelkader/Emmerton/Bertuzzi
Guest Heaten Report post Posted June 30, 2011 You honestly think Emmerton will have a full-time spot in the lineup next year?.. He'll probably be in rotation with either Miller, Eaves, or Draper.
