I actually like Big Rig, but this is a brutal contract if that's the real numbers? Unless they plan on playing him top 4, PP, PK, he will never live up to that contract. Quite puzzling.

Welcome to the playoffs....where the games get better and the officiating gets worse.

If Kenny doesn't have a big rabbit to pull out of his sleeve tomorrow; I will for the first time in the history of kenny holland; doubt his GM abilities. It APPEARS we havef****** sat around while everyone is scooped up. This could very well be anotherf****** soft hearted "bu.bu.but, he's a wingy  " kind of signing.

Meanwhile, Brian Burke is wringing his hands because he was going to offer $4.5M/yr.

Now Maple Leaf fans can laugh right back at us.

Even worse is this is going to help drive up ticket prices.

That's about the most retarded thing I've read all day. Congrats

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny. You sign Derian Hatcher, I assume you were hung over at the time. You sign Bertuzzi not once, but twice, I assume temporary insanity. You sign Ericcson to that kind of contract, I'm thinking lobotomy. WTH?????
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

The same guy who's been repeatedly benched for lackluster play just got a 10 mil contract.

Oh happy days..

What makes me mad is Ehrhoff is only 750k more a year.

I am so freaking mad. I don't think Holland is a bad GM, I think the league is broken. The cap went up way too much in one year.
"It is a lot easier to be an ******* to words than to people"-xkcd

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

It's almost certain to be for four years. It was mentioned in an article or interview recently that Holland and Ericsson were working on 2 year and 4 year terms, with the money around $2m. Changing that to over $3m for three years just whacks it too much. Four years would be $2,437,500 per season, which is right where the reported numbers were at.
