64 would've been funny, but I'm glad he's going with 22.

I guess word is out that I will be wearing 22 this year. It was a really tough decision that I went back and forth on many times. Wearing 64 would have been neat and cool, but I just didn't feel like this was the right year to do it. In my opinion getting an opportunity to play in Detroit is a special thing, and I felt like I needed to wear a # that is special to me. 22 is that # for me.

Class move, it was fun, but you gotta appreciate his ability to play along, ultimately go with what he felt was best and still make a charitable donation in the interest of the push for 64

I didn't even know what a Commodore 64 was until people explained it here, but now I have to admit that I'm disappointed. I like numbers that aren't the run-of-the-mill type things. It's cool that he did the charity thing, though.

Money on the board:  $40

Thanks for a great season, guys.  You exceeded expectations and have given us something to look forward to as the long summer approaches.

 

And next year we get to start in October, like hockey is SUPPOSED to.

I think if I was Commodore I would have made the same choice. He doesn't want to be some one year gimmick, even though it would have been kind of cool to see. I think this move shows that he is serious about improving his play and making an impact with the Wings. :thumbup:

He could still wear it in the pre-season and maybe of Commodore USA wants to do some kind of promotion's here and there, he could wear it pre-game (kinda like they use the pinks sticks for warm-ups.)

Lebda is great... hes going to singlehandly make Weber and Suter look a lot better defensively, raising their price tags and giving Detroit a better chance to sign them.

I agree that Commodore chose the right course of action. He had fun with it and let it run its course, but was ultimately a pro about it. He even handled the announcement well. Really class move by him to match the donations, too. Also tweeted that he'd be buying a Commodore 64 for the support.

I think I may have misjudged this Commodore fellow.

Respect his choice on his # choice. Looking forward to seeing what he can do this season. Sounds like a guy who wants to prove that he can be a top 4 D.

That's pretty awesome! Last I heard it was around $6k.

He should pick one of those "a computer in every home" organizations as his charity :)

He can wear 64 during his last few years before retirement while playing for a different organization.

EDIT: They can really run with the whole marketing thing if he plays for Toronto, where Commodore Intl was founded or Pittsburgh/Philly because its current headquarters is in Pennsylvania.
