are there people feeling for it like I do? Sonething tells me it was all incorrect as there was no evidence of a goal. Were the rules different back then? That was the first play-offs I fully watched...

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing there. Hemsky took the shot, Legace lost control of the puck after the initial save, puck pinballs around and into the net. Looks pretty cut and dry unless I'm missing something.

agreed. the rule on replay as far as i know has been there must be conclusive evidence to over turn an on-ice call. with the s***ty quality of that video i couldnt see anything until it was already in.

what i couldnt get over was the streamers after every goal. shouldnt they have saved that for the parade? ohh wait...

I just remember us heading into the 3rd up 2-0, and totally falling apart.

I remember Legace choking that whole series. Also, Datsyuk and Shanahan didn't show up and playing Draper on that line with them was a terrible idea.

Lastly, I remember Yzerman not being on the ice for the last shift, despite being one of our best forwards that series.

Just a terrible memory from what was great, record breaking regular season.

This.

Legace showed why he was a career backup. And that series was back during the years when Dats couldn't score in the playoffs. Painful memories.

I'd be amiss not to mention that Zetterberg scored 6 goals in that series in 6 games. He showed right away that he was a playoff player. Also, Robert Lang was really good for us that series, just like in 2004, despite all the crap he gets for being lazy too often.

1 that was a good goal

2 i recorded this game because i couldnt watch it live. But the game ran longer than the time slot it was in so the recording was cut short. it stopped with 5 mins left in the third when the wings were up 3-2 and i had to hear the awful news from my dad. it was one of the worst feelings ive ever felt

3 who else thinks franzen looked weird in #39

Yzerman, Lang, Zetterberg, and Maltby were great that series. Too bad Stevie was banged up and Legace was such a sieve, who knows if Osgood were healthy we could've gone deep that year.

The only good game the whole series:

Lilja made two inexcusably boneheadeded plays. He left Pisani uncovered for the Oilers to score their second goal, then horrendously blew coverage on Hemsky for the game-winning goal.

Datsyuk was injured throughout that series and did not play in the first two games. Shanahan was indeed invisible. Yzerman had not been a huge factor; he failed to score a single goal.

What are you talking about? Why are you posting a video from 2006 (it's now 2011), get it wrong and say the video is from 2004 and then question whether the rules are different because there was no evidence there was a goal???? The was clearly a goal, but even if it wasn't clear at all, it would still have been a goal, even 20 years ago and even today.

You've totally confused the hell out of me.

Not always the measure of a man's effectiveness; he had four assists in as many games. He was very good, especially considering he was a banged up 40 year old.

I might be remembering incorrectly.
