Its been speculated that HTD wants to make the jump after this season.
So with his skills where they are at and being 24 now he should be fairly developed.
If he were to make the jump right now what do people see his immediate offense being? Does 20 goals and 40 points sound likely?
Also what kind of defense/physicality does he bring?

From everything I've read, great skills, horrible attitude and will probably never be an NHL player... if he were to jump right now, he'd be out of the league by December after being sent down, and then jetting back to SEL... just my impression... also, skill guy, not very physicalI asked this question on HFboards so I'll ask it here too.

Also, from watching him on streams, seems to take shifts off...

And evidently he was benched during his first preseason game for yelling at a ref & was suspended for the second game. Doesn't sound like his attitude is getting any better. He'll never wear the Winged Wheel. From everything I've read, great skills, horrible attitude and will probably never be an NHL player... if he were to jump right now, he'd be out of the league by December after being sent down, and then jetting back to SEL... just my impression... also, skill guy, not very physical

Agreed... I didn't even hear this story until now, thanks for info... just further cements by beliefs on his future (or lack thereof)And evidently he was benched during his first preseason game for yelling at a ref & was suspended for the second game. but it's all mental breakdowns and stupid retaliatory penalties.
he seems like the exact opposite kind of person the team wants or needs.

I watched a lot of his games during the last season, and he's without a doubt a special player. But I don't think he'll ever play for Detroit. Maybe another NHL team which has a little more faith in him would sign him.

Sounds just like the type of player we don't need here... a primadona who thinks they're owed something without earning it...He signed with Forsberg's and Näslund's SEL team MODO. Apparently Detroit offered him qualifying contract which he rejected.

Not really related, as he was just homesick and it wasn't supposedly an ego thing, but this thread got me thinking about Johan Ryno... it's a bummer it never worked out with him, had such a promising couple of camps and that kinda speed at that kinda size is a rare combo...

thats true I was gunna mention that in the post, but my boss showed up haha. The accident did f*** him over pretty bad, but I think if he had a better attitude, and was willing to spend time in GR he could have made a NHL career for himself. maybe not quite the career he could have had in the NHL before the accident, but a solid NHL career.you cant compare him to Grigs. His car accident did for him. Detroit would have had a special player had it not been for that day 16 may 2003. Axelsson needs to grow up pretty quick, but i feel that the front office have already given up on him. 20 years down the line ****

did anyone see Ryno play any of those games for the Griffs back in 07-08? I remember a picture at the start of a camp game with him in the line up he just looked massive next to the others and im sure big E was near him too.
He looked massive. He played opposite of massive. Ridiculously soft for the NA game.
