TSN.ca:

The 41-year-old Selanne contemplated retirement over the offseason as he recuperated from knee surgery and wanted to wait until he was healthy before making his decision.

"I'm excited and optimistic about what this team can do and thankful to have another opportunity to play in Anaheim," said Selanne on the Ducks twitter account.

Last season, the Finnish sniper scored 31 goals and added 49 assists for 80 points in 73 games.

Since scoring 76 goals as a rookie for the Winnipeg Jets in 1992-93, Selanne has over 600 goals and 700 assists in his career.

“As he showed again last season, Teemu still has the drive, determination, and skill to play at an elite level,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. “Most importantly for us, his passion comes from not just playing, but playing for the Ducks.”

“I’m very happy that my knee has recovered from surgery and is ready for the season,” said Selanne. “I’m excited and optimistic about what this team can do and thankful to have another opportunity to play in Anaheim.”
