Wings watchable Online?

Recommended Posts

I killed the cable bill to save some money. Now hockey season has rolled around and I'd love to be able to watch the Wings again. I know there used to be a Center Ice Online. Is it called GameCenter now? In any event, I live in an area where I'd be burned by Blackout Restrictions. Is there a service I can subscribe to to watch them live? I don't mind paying. Also, I have an Android phone. I know GameCenter Live is an option on Verizon but Blackouts would still apply. Is there a way to spoof the GPS?

I guess I asked a lot of questions, but I'd really appreciate any help you'd be able to offer. Thanks.

I have only watched online for the past three years, same reason as you...$$$. They're teeny-tiny on my screen, but I can see them! :D

I am at work and don't have the bookmarks here but will post them or PM them to you later, OK? There are some good options out there.

Just check out the GDT on game time and it will have all the info for you.

The #1 reason I don't kill my cable off is because of live sports. Sure, I could use free streaming sites like myp2p.eu or free streaming sites, but the quality is what I love. With every game in HD, it just makes sense for me to keep my cable subscription, especially during the hockey season.

streaming is coming around though, even last year there were some hd games near the end of the season

I just bought Gamecenter, canceling it because I can't watch games in my room as well as my roomate in his room. Guess I'll have to stick with Center Ice for now.

The quality of the streams are just not as good as HD quality on my cable TV or even through Directv or Dish. Streams are nice as a stop gap if you are not at your TV, such as you are traveling. I bought hockeystreams before just to watch some out of market games and that was pretty nice. Still, when it comes to the Wings, I just don't look at streaming sties as a replacement for the 1080i quality of FSDHD on my cable provider.

myp2p went down this summer, but wiziwig.eu seems to have picked up with game streams. There were two for the Wings last night, and most popular teams are covered with multiple streams.

This is good to know. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking about spending the $100 a year for the hockeystreams package this year. I think I will hold off. :)

Myp2p has been back up as myp2p.bz for a while now.

I read that, but I've seen a lot of the old streamers on wiziwig. Are there a lot of streamers on the new myp2p?

I can't really say for sure as for it's reliability on the new site yet because it's preseason (a number of games on local TV or not televised at all), but I've seen a handful of games so far -- didn't watch it all the way through as my interest in preseason games is rather limited. I'm under the impression if it's on a national or highly televised regional network it will be shown there come regular season and playoffs, remembering myp2p never hosted the streams itself but posted, forum-style, links to websites that were streaming, and there were quite a nice selection of consistent off-site streamers.

One of the links shown from the old myp2p which was sports billet I can see was taken down, so I'm pretty sure new ones will pop up, as per what happens when websites get taken down with infringement notices.

So far every Leafs game has been shown because, for example, it's on LeafsTV.

Sports Billet is posting/streaming on the new website, as is HabsVision. They are the only old 'regulars' I've seen so far, which is why I asked (some of the old myp2p guys were very good).
