there are now 2 spots open on the Wings opening roster with Mursak suffering a broken left ankle.

Who will get those spots?

Now let's see who that opens the door for, should be interesting to see what happens. Very unfortuante for Mursak I wish him a quick recovery or as quick as possible.

Well, it's safe to assume that Emmerton won
t be waived prior to the start of the season. It also means Brunny will more than likely be signed.

Damn, that picture is almost as cringe-worthy as watching the replay of how he hit the boards. What a shame, not a nice way to be repaid for really hustling to make the play :(

im thinking Emmerton is a lock to make it...

I also think that Brunnstrom has done very well and will get a contract...

so im thinking the opening day line up will look something like this...

Franzen, Zetterberg, Filppula

Cleary, Datsyuk, Eaves

Abdelkader, Helm, Bertuzzi

Hudler, Miller, Holmstrom

Emmerton
Brunnstrom

I also think that Emmerton and Brunnstrom will get ample opportunity to get on the main roster, especially if Hudler under-performs
be about it!

I feel like crying. I had a freaking awful day yesterday, I wake up at 6am to go to work, come home to eagerly check the score, and my freaking favoutire player has broken his ankle.

I hate life.

Yeah, I don't have any doubt that Brunnstrom gets the newly-opened spot after the way he's been playing this preseason.

Isn't there a rule that an injured player can't be exposed to waivers? In that case, can't the Wings put him on LTIR and bring up someone until he's better? Then when he gets better, they'll have to decide who to expose, IIRC.

I'm thinking Brunnstrom, but if he makes it and proves himself, they may not want to expose him.

Thanks for a great season, guys.  You exceeded expectations and have given us something to look forward to as the long summer approaches.

 

And next year we get to start in October, like hockey is SUPPOSED to.
