Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 Commodore allows Wings to burn some of the Smith Suspension. Holland now will allow at least one game to be burned off of the Suspension in a game Smith would not have played in anyways. I was hoping the Wings would do that. 1 newfy reacted to this
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 Took 'em long enough. We all anticipated this move before yesterday's game.
Guest Heaten Report post Posted October 8, 2011 Took 'em long enough. We all anticipated this move before yesterday's game. There's really no hurry. They'll plug away and burn up those 5 games in no time.
RedBengals 27 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 Doesn't Smith just have to be on the depth chart of the game for it to count?
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 will he still have to sit the 3 games in the A on his return?
RedBengals 27 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 will he still have to sit the 3 games in the A on his return? If the ban carries then yes, but if the ban doesn't carry no. He'd have to serve another three NHL games. I don't remember what type of suspension he got though.

Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted October 8, 2011 More like 'Common sense move'. Agreed. Not that I'm knocking anyone, but everybody expected it's what they would do. Get it out of the way now in case they really need him somewhere down the line.
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted October 9, 2011 They should have done it last night as well. You never know when an injury will occur and getting it done that one game sooner would have been a nice luxury. So is he even in Detroit or did they just say he is on the 23 man roster?
