Datsyuk & Zetterberg have been split up

If Larionov could hit 60 points as our 3rd line center back in the day so can Flip. Too many excuses as to why he isn't hitting numbers he has the talent/potential to hit.

Larionov played with infinitely more talented players than Fil is set to do on the 3rd line.

Who did Larionov have... Kozlov and Lapointe? Put Hudler on that third line and you have about the same talent levels.

No more excuses. He has 60+ point talent and if cannot give use that secondary scoring we need it's time for him to ship out.

I’m pretty much like everyone else in here, glad they've made changes, but these are the best the brains trust could conjure up??

Why are we so hesitant to put Filppula with Datsyuk, WHY?? They have chemistry, but they never seem to put them together.

Hudler-Datsyuk-Cleary

Franzen-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi

Filppula-Helm-Abdelkader

Miller-Emmerton-Holmstrom

Patrick Eaves did not practice. Babcock said he had a "maintenance day'' and his status in uncertain for Thursday's game against Calgary (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit).

On defense, nothing changed:

Lidstrom-White

Kronwall-Stuart

Ericsson-Kindl

Commodore

Howard

Conklin

Would much rather see:

Hudler-Datsyuk-Filppula or Cleary

Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary or Filppula

Bertuzzi-Helm-Abdelkader

Miller-Emmerton-Holmstrom

There's only so many line combinations they can go through before they realize there is something fundamentally wrong with our forwards. Whether it's practice, lack of hustle/heart, all hitting slumps at the same time, or whatever, line juggling will only get you so far. The Wings will eventually bounce back, but I think they will still be lacking the thing to push them over the edge into full blown Cup threat, a sniper.
