Bertuzzi & Hudler likely to miss tomorrow's game

Good, on two counts.

1- It means Bert wont stink up the ice.

2- It could possibly mean that Bert has been stinking up the ice because he's been playing with an illness, and therefore will (hopefully) improve

Agreed.

I have to guess they both actually are sick, since Babcock doesn't have problem benching guys and letting everyone know. Especially Hudler.

Yeah.

Hudler has looked better than Bertuzzi this season. Bert has been pretty bad, which sucks because I really like Bert.

I recognize I will be negged outta my rear for this, but the same could be said about pretty much the entire roster as of late. including players who usually are untouchable as far as critique goes.

The thing is most players on the team have made some sort of decent contribution during the season.

Bertuzzi has been absolutely frustratingly terrible, and Hudler has cooled off considerably since his decent start.

This.

I love Bert, I really do. But he has been a liability out there. His bone head plays have been deflating and his timely penalties have been costly. Hulder, as expected, has been soft.

The Red Wings team as a whole haven't been good, but some have (namely Bert and Hudler) have been brutal to the point they drag the entire team down. The team needs a shot of confidence... the aforementioned players are deflating to the team.

Too bad Bertuzzi seems to have lost a step or 60, but I am glad Hudler won't be in. Too bad that none of the "kids" are coming up, does that mean Brunnstrom AND Emmerton are in too? I kinda lost track of the extra players....

Read the article but here is the lineup mLive said they practiced with:

Cleary-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Filppula-Zetterberg-Franzen

Abdelkader-Eaves

Miller-Emmerton-Brunnstrom

The third line is missing a player....where is Filppula? perhaps a call up is forth coming?

Still need Cleary OFF that first line!

it means that if eaves huds and bert are out, commie plays foreward, and kindl is in as well. you dont put people on ir for illness (usually) so they cant call anyone else up.

Flip is on the second line. Helm didn't practice but it expected to play. Therefore, the third line is likely Abby- Helm- Eaves.

^ Looks like you forgot Helm, unless you know something I don't.

These are the lines I'd really like to see:

Filppula Datsyuk Brunnstrom

Franzen Zetterberg Holmstrom

Abdelkader Helm Eaves

Miller Emmerton Nyquist

I think Brunnstrom should have a shot in the top six but putting him with Holmstrom would be a waste. Both lines in the top 6 have combinations rarely seen but we might as well try them.

And I realize now I forgot Cleary, I guess you can scratch Holmstrom/Nyquist or maybe Eaves isn't ready to go, but frankly he could get sick too.

Flip is right there on your second line, but Helm is the player missing, I assume he will be the third line center.

I cannot understand why so many posters believe Brunnstom should be given a spot in the top-6. He could not crack the NHL roster of the Leafs or Stars last season. I'm all for letting him earn that spot, but I don't think it should be given to him, especially above Cleary and Hudler/Bert when they are healthy.

Hudler and Bert will participate in a wrestling contest at WYMCA. Unfortunately both will lose.

On a positive note the Red Wings will win another good game without those two.

Go Wings !
