Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted November 16, 2011 This is why we NEED to get an Enforcer at the deadline. IF anything the hit should have fired us up. God, enough with this ******* enforcer bulls***. Professional athletes should not need the athletic equivalent of Patrick Swayze's character in Roadhouse to get fired up to play. If they do, we have bigger problems than we thought. 2 P. Marlowe and Doc Holliday reacted to this

wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted November 16, 2011 TERRIBLE period by the Wings. What the hell is it going to take for Babcock to GIVE PAVS A LINEMATE?>!?!? IT is really making me furious! Our best forward is unable to do anything, game in and game out, on a freakin line with Cleary, but yet Babcock STILL uses that line. By the end of this game, Pavs better have a good linemate because I am sick of it. This team will go NOWHERE unless Pavs is able to get going and that is only going to happen with a good linemate. 2 DatsyukianDekes and DatsyukianDangles122 reacted to this

Doesn't help your case when Holmstrom has been abused in front of the net his entire career, enforcer in the lineup or not. Hooray for a worthless argument about enforcers...AGAIN. Even when the team goes after Stewart for the hit. 3 P. Marlowe, Electrophile and Hockeytown0001 reacted to this
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Awful, awful period. Garbage PP, and our two leaders, Datsyuk and Zetterberg, might as well have been replaced by Helm and Emmerton on that PP. And lastly, Jonathan Ericsson could quite possibly be the worst player in the NHL.
GMRwings1983 8,789 Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Hell, this was way worse than when Laperriere hit Lidstrom, yet Downey stepped in there and beat his ass. That sparked the team and helped us get out of our losing streak. This was a cheap ass hit if I ever saw one, and so far I saw nothing from the Wings to fire them up. It's early in the game and there hasn't been much 5 on 5 since the hit, so I'll hold off until I see how our tougher players respond the rest of the way. You know every discussion about "sparking the team" and "enforcers" and "beating people up" and "powerplay is our enforcer" and "talentless goon" and "every GM in the league" ends up the same way. The fact it always becomes a big pro/anti-enforcer circle jerk is what makes it worthless. Edited November 16, 2011 by Doc Holliday 1 P. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Ericsson needs to stop taking penalties. I couldn't see the penalty because my stream froze, but I'm guessing it was when he knocked that guy on his ass? He does need to cut down on penalties, but there I'm kind of okay with it. He needs to make guys pay around the net, and honestly Homer gets hits as bad or worse every game and it doesn't get called. 1 Zeowingsfan reacted to this

He needs to make guys pay around the net, and honestly Homer gets hits as bad or worse every game and it doesn't get called. This I can agree with. It is, however, getting old seeing him in the box more than on the ice.

Based on that definition, every argument on LGW about anything is stupid, since there's always going to be disagreements and no consensus. Hence the term, "argument". That sparked the team and helped us get out of our losing streak. Uh huh... that's because HE HAD A CHANCE TO. Stewart is no longer on the ice. Perhaps you'd like someone to go looking for him in the dressing room. This was a cheap ass hit if I ever saw one, and so far I saw nothing from the Wings to fire them up.
