mmamolo 287 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Don't make asinine mistakes. The first goal was a miscue by Kronwall. The second was blown rotation. The third was Ericsson being an unbelievable moron. Hey, we could get rid of Ericsson right now. That ought to help. Goal 1 - Howard mis-judged the puck, Kronwall turned the wrong way, Lidstrom was slow on the transition, and worst of all Datsyuk didn't take Pavelski despite having more than enough time. Goal 2 - Decent pass by Clearly, Stuart joined the rush, Zetterberg either didn't recognize Stuart joined or was way too soft on that play. Zetterberg needs to know his time and space. 3 on 1, not much more Lidstrom or Howard could do. Goal 3 - Although Ericsson didn't do much to prevent it he wasn't the main problem. Hudler didn't recognize Vlasic was driving all the way to the net. Hudler was soft on his approach and then turned away as Vlasic drove around the net. Howard also bit hard but Vlasic was left all alone by Hudler Goal 4 - Kindl was slow off the hop at the offensive blue line. Filppula was the third man back but didn't have a man and Zetterberg was behind on his coverage of Mitchell. Goal 5 - Conklin looked like he hadn't played in 10 games...oh wait, he hasn't

Nightfall 871 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Anyone remember back in 96-97 when we were Colorado's *******? What did we do to snap that streak? We got Shanny who was a great power forward for us. What this team needs is a shakeup. The stars are not producing, and thats the difference in 5 of the 7 losses. I am glad Howard is playing well because if it wasn't for him, this would have been much more ugly. 3 T.Low, kylee and Rick D reacted to this

Hartford was really bad that year and Shanny obviously wasn't too happy to be there after the trade for Pronger. lol. Totally forgot about that. Really though Shanny, brought new life to our whole team. Proabably one of the best trades ever for us in our history. I agree with our current team we need some sort of trade like that. Just the problem is it's too early to tell who's available yet.
Guest blueadams Report post Posted November 18, 2011 if we were to trade for parise and suter right now...do you have any idea what it would cost us?? i personally could stand a forgettable season if we got them for nothing after the season.

You really want Suter on our team? Don't get me wrong I think he's an excellent player and all but does he really bring anything new to our team? Vs the Sharks for example? I don't really see him helping us that much yes maybe in the off season if we lose Lids. Parise on the other hand Vs say the Sharks gives us a bonafide top 6 forward that produces. But I do agree with you too much cost involved for either of them and we really don't know if either player will be available this offseason. Rumor is Poile and Suter's agent have been meeting a lot lately. Also on Parise don't even know if we would be available, I think it all depends if the Devils are buyers or sellers or neither at the trade deadline. 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Phase one: Play on NBC. Put Pierre between the benches. Pay him to tell the Sharks that he thinks goals are sexy and turn him on. Pay him to tell the Wings that he likes it slow and lazy and is always looking for that kind of men. Phase two: Play Homer on all four lines. Win all face-offs. Do not let Homer out of the crease with his butt in the goalie's face. Prior to the game, soak his pants in chloroform. Phase three: Devise a formula wherein goals, assists, blocked shots, hits, takeaways, shots on goal, and fights count for a different number of positive points. Add to that formula negative points for lazy play, stupid penalties, missed assignments, and giveaways. Figure out who has the best score after each game. Give that man free beer for the week, payed for by the other players so as not to be cap circumvention. 2 lookalive07 and MidMichSteve reacted to this
The Secret 304 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 San Jose shook things up to change the dynamic of their team after they had not been able to advance farther in the playoffs the past few seasons... they tried it a few times with the same team and got the same result so they made some bold moves and made their team bigger, tougher and more of a play off team without disrupting their style of play. I think its about time we see the same type of thing in Detroit. It will take moving some good players as San Jose did, maybe Franzen, Filpula and Hudler in exchange for some new pieces on our team. We've been trying with basically the same team for a few years now and getting the same result and its high time for some big change.

Not sure why you were negged for this post, aside from whoever did it not sensing that you were being humorous. That said, I like all of these ideas, except I'd trade out the beer part for something that might actually help them get faster and less lazy, haha. Also, I can get them the Chloroform. We have some in my lab. Edited November 18, 2011 by lookalive07 1 MidMichSteve reacted to this

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 1) get our heads out of our asses and start playing as hard as they do. 2) sign parise and suter this off-season. Simple solution guys-- just sign the most coveted free agent forward and one of the two most coveted d-men.

Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 I'm definitely anxious for the next time they play the Sharks - 2/19/2012 Got that date circled for sure. It's not Ivan Drago's picture that should be on the Wings mirrors to eventually crush in a symbolic gesture but rather the Sharks team. Plus I'm pretty excited to see how the Wings battle agains the Hawks, Preds and now that Crosby is back, the Pens.
